Epilogue

Six years have passed since Dinah killed her dad. She was currently serving ten years in prison. She agreed to a plea deal which consisted of handing over evidence on all of her father’s illegal dealings and confessed to all of her crimes to the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Due to her father being a highly successful criminal and businessman, It allowed them to arrest many other businessmen, Mafia bosses, and many more individuals that did business with Johnathan.

In exchange for all that information, she got a reduced prison sentence and could get out on good behavior and will be put in protective custody. Dinah did feel guilty about all of the stuff she has done, but she did not feel like she should serve life for it or be put in the general population where she would meet all types of criminals who she had put away in her many years as a detective.

While in prison, she was focused on getting her life together, and moved on from Ally. She found a girlfriend who was on the outside and hasn’t talked to Ally or Normani since the day she was arrested. Normani tried to become her legal counsel but she declined because she already had a plan when she turned herself in. She had no idea why Normani tried to help her, but the shorter woman didn’t seem like she really wanted to. Dinah just had to get through the next three years and she would be out.

Normani and Ally collected their bags from baggage claim and were on their way to get a rental car. This was not the first time they have been to Miami. After everything that happened with Dinah, Lauren and Tori wanted a new start, so they agreed to move to Miami to be closer to Lauren’s parents. Lauren is still a homicide detective and Tori is still a medical examiner. Normani and Ally were visiting this time because Lauren and Tori were getting married. This was the weekend of the wedding. The bachelorette party happened a few months ago in vegas which involved drinking, strippers, gambling, and a party bus. It took them all a few days to even recover from the hangovers, but they all had a lot of fun nonetheless.

Normani was so excited for Lauren and Tori, but she couldn’t stop her mind from constantly thinking about her and Ally’s disastrous wedding. First, their officiant, Tori, was going through a rough patch with her girlfriend and had a mental breakdown a few minutes before. Then the church caught fire, but luckily they were able to put it out quickly. Lastly, their wedding cake fell over and hit the floor, so none of their guests received a piece of their cake. They can laugh about all of it now. Everything worked out perfectly in the end.

Ally walked out of the building with the keys to the rental car in her hand. She smiled seeing her pregnant wife, Normani, sitting on a bench watching the buses and other transportation vehicles drive by.

“Hey you.” Normani smiled seeing Ally. She was currently four months pregnant with twins and the morning sickness was something serious. However, sitting outside in the cool breeze always helped with her nausea.

“Hi, my love.” Ally grinned, bending down and pecking Normani’s lips. “How are you feeling?”

Normani rubbed her stomach. “Better. Are we all set to go?”

“Yes ma’am.” Ally showed Normani the keys. “Come on. I’ll help you up.” Together they walked to their SUV. Ally helped Normani get situated in her seat before she loaded the vehicle with their luggage. She got in the driver’s seat. “Are you comfortable, my love?”

“No, not yet. You forgot something.” Normani grabbed Ally’s jaw, pulling her closer til their lips met. She giggled, watching her wife’s eyes flutter open as if it was their first time kissing. “Now we can go.” It was amazing that they had been together for over five years and married for the last two years, and their love for each other has only grown stronger.
