Dinah's point of view

By any means necessary. My father's words echoed throughout my head. I had to get Ally back. She belonged with me. I worked too hard to get her to fall in love with me. We were just going through a rough patch. I  went to see a shrink like I was ordered to do. I picked my own shrink. I didn't want to see anybody she recommended because they might be a spy. I didn't need the new chief to know all of my business. The therapist that I picked was a mistake. He wasn't my cup of tea. There was just something about him that made me feel uncomfortable. I trued not to judge but he had a huge bald spot on the top of his head that he tried to cover up with a comb over. He kept looking at my boobs then readjusting himself. He was sweating profusely which was a very unsettling sight. His arm pits had sweat stains. I had to get out of there. I lied the entire session because I didn't want him to know anything about me.

Maybe me and Ally could go to couples therapy. I was sure that would help solve all of our problems. I still loved her, and I knew that she still loved me. Normani was just the rebound. She would never be able to replace me. I was here first. I was Ally's first real love. She was just infatuated with Normani. I was going to make her see that. The other day, I was looking through old photos that I had with Ally, and I missed those days. I went to her house to apologize for my behavior at the auction. I really shouldn't have aired out all of our personal business to the whole world. When I went over there, I noticed Normani's car was in her driveway. It had only been a week. Why was Normani over there? Why would Ally have Normani at her house this late at night? I could only think of one reason why Normani would be staying the night. They were sleeping together. I got so angry that I pulled the bat, scarf, black hoodie, and can of spray paint from my backseat. I really had no idea how those items ended up in my car. First, I spray painted the cameras. Second, I walked over to Normani's car and spray painted mean words on her car. I wasn't satisfied with my work, so I wrote slut on Ally's mailbox. However, I still didn't feel any better. I wanted Normani to know just how pissed and devastated I was. I grabbed my bat and like that Jasmine Sullivan song, I busted the windows out of her car. I hate to admit it, but this act of violence made me feel so much better. I knocked over Ally's mailbox before leaving. I was on an emotional high.

That was two weeks ago, and neither Ally nor Normani have responded to any of my messages. I knew they called the cops on me, but I didn't care. They had no proof. I was rich and a well accomplished detective. They wouldn't send me to jail, and if they did, it wouldn't be for long. I smiled as I laid down on Ally's bed, remembering her scent. We made so many memories in this bed. Most of them consisted of binge watching television shows. I missed this house. It was almost time for me to go. I finished packing up the remainder of my listening devices. I hid one in each room. They were pretty great to be so cheap. I got them from a buddy of mine off of the dark web.

I locked up Ally's house. Luckily, I knew how to pick a lock. I got in my car and cut on my brights. It was two a.m. at night. I drove to Normani's office, and expertly snuck in. I thought that they would have better security here. Her office was quite boring. She had her dance trophies and all of the metals that she had ever won in a trophy case in the corner of the room. Her diplomas were on the walls along with pictures of her family. There were a couple of file cabinets on the other wall. Her desk was neatly organized and near the wall opposite of the door. Now that I thought about it, her whole office was organized. Too bad I was about to knock all of her shit over, starting with the file cabinets. I picked the locks on them and threw the files around everywhere. I ripped the pictures off of the wall. I knocked down all the items on her desk. I even ripped out all of the wires out of the computer before knocking over her trophy case. I walked away from the building with a huge smile on my face. Step one in getting Ally back was to get Normani out of Ally's life. No one wanted to deal with a psycho ex. I giggled. My phone started to vibrate and I answered it without looking at the caller ID. "Hello."
