Y/N's POV
Jojo and I were face to face with Dio.
Dio's gaze was cold. His eyes were piercing... glowing... like something that would keep me up at night as a child. Not the Dio I once loved.
"Y/N. I do not wish to fight you." said Dio. He shut his eyes. "Hmph. It wasn't supposed to be this way you know."
Jojo and I remained silent.
"Since we were children you always meant so much to me. The thought of disposing of you like I planned to with the others upset me greatly. I knew I couldn't do it."
I was in utter disbelief.
"In a lot of ways you reminded me of my mother. So kind, caring, and beautiful, always worried about me. It was you, Y/N, that made me feel something other than anger and bitterness."
His disappointed expression grew deeper.
"I adore you with my entire being, Y/N, and I wish you were by my side right now. Not attempting to fight a losing battle against me."
My chest ached at his words.
Dio's eyes widened with rage. "Don't you see!" he yelled. Dio then pointed his sharp finger at Jojo. "It was Jonathan who has come between us! You and I would have had a happy and prosperous life together if it weren't for him! And now, you fight alongside him! JOJO, THE MAN I HATE MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD NEXT TO MY FATHER, DARIO!"
Jojo who appeared calm yet stern.
I clenched my fists tightly, grinding my teeth in anger.
I growled. "Have you gone completely mad!?" I shouted. "Have you really convinced yourself that we would've lived happily ever after if this sick fairy-tale of yours played out!?"
Dio listened, pure hatred on his face.
"You truly believe that you're in the right after everything you've done, Dio!" I screamed.
Jojo stepped up, his brows furrowed.
"Since the first day we met you have pushed me away, Dio." Jojo spoke calmly.
"For years I've wondered why. I will never understand... But Inhave always felt your hatred toward me."
I could see a tear forming in Jojo's eye as he began to think back.
"I will never understand why you treated me the way you did. Why you lied to the family & I since the day you came into our lives."
Dio seemed to be untouched by Jojo's words, making me feel even more angry.
"No matter what, you would have had a better life, thanks to Father. He would have done everything in his power to bring you success. You didn't have to kill father, who thought of you as his own!" Jojo shouted.
His fist balled up, tears of anger fell down his face.
"And all I ever wanted... was to be your brother, Dio!" he cried. "But all you ever did was push me away and make my life miserable! You never cared nor did you ever want to be in this family!"
It's true... He never did...
My mind went red. I could feel the rage within me waiting to break free.
All the anger, pain, and frustration I was feeling was becoming increasingly difficult to contain.
The claws on my fingers and toes were extending once more as well as my fangs. My vision grew sharper and more focused. I could feel my strength increasing rapidly.
Clenching down on my right hand, my nails pierced and punctured my flesh again, causing my palm to bleed. I looked down at my bloody clenched hand.
I had to calm myself down.
Jojo will defeat him. Have faith...
In my head I kept referring to Dio as a man. But he wasn't... He wasn't a man at all. He was a monster and I needed to keep reminding myself of that.
"Dio, there's nothing I want more than to kill you myself. My hatred for you consumes me. I can't even stand the sight of you."
I opened up my wounded hand and watched my wounds heal in just seconds.
My attention was back on the blonde monster. "But I know there's nothing I can do."
My gaze focused on his golden orbs. There was just something so cold about them. "No matter how much of my power and strength I put into fighting you, I know it won't do me any good."
Dio remained silent, but I could sense his anger.
"It's just impossible for you to die by my hand. I can never wield the power of the sun in my hands." I explained. "It just isn't my destiny to defeat you, Dio."
I looked to my beloved friend beside me. Jojo, so brave and courageous. Despite everything he has been through his pure heart always remained. He's never stopped caring about others, even Dio.
*Flashback*
"A true gentleman has no fear, he'll fight for those who can't. Even knowing it's a fight he has no chance of winning he enters the fray."
*End of Flashback*
I smirked at the memory. I remembered how heroic Jojo was even back when we were just kids. But the memory quickly faded against reality.
"It is Jojo's destiny. Only he can defeat you, Dio." I spoke.
Jojo gazed gracefully at me with his ocean blue eyes.
"And I will be here to protect him and fight along side him. And I will do so until you perish and you're in hell where you belong."
Dio smirked. "Hmph. And if he fails? What sha'll you do then, Y/N?"
"Jojo will not fail." I assured.
A very sinister grin appeared on Dio's pale face.

HEY EVERYONE!
First off, I'd just like to apologize for the super long and unexpected hiatus. I was writing & updating regularly & all of a sudden I went MIA for months.
Honestly, I've been going through a lot in life & I needed a lot of time to figure things out. Unfortunately, I had lost all my motivation to write as well as a lot of other things.
I'm in a much better mindset now & I think I'm ready to continue this story! ☺ This story which has a gotten a lot more reads since I stopped writing. Very happy to see it has some fans. 💛
Anyway, sorry this was just a mini chapter. I really just wrote it just to get back into writing & to kind of find my footing again. Next one will be a lot longer, I promise! For now, I hope you all continue to read.
Thank you all for your time & patience. 🙏🏻
