CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

"ARE YOU aware of the consequences of your actions?" Wynter asked him, her eyes weren't on him since she was reading her patients' files.

Anurak was able to file a week's leave like what he and his cousin planned to in order to make their friend stop working her ass off. He planned to drag the woman to a mall or something just to make her relax in the meantime but he ended up looking like a patient as he opened up to Wyn about his current situation.

When he wasn't able to reply with words but with a sigh, Wynter raised her head to look at him. "Seriously, Anurak. Why did you even let yourself be in that position?"

He let out another sigh and pulled his hair out of frustration. "I don't know, Wyn. All I know is that I'm... I'm getting addicted to his kisses... to his touch. And I... I don't know how to stop."

Hindi malaman ni Anurak kung ano ang pwedeng gawin. He and Worachet talked about forgetting what happened to them but three days before he went to the Philippines, their makeout session inside the campus restroom led to a quickie. And then two nights later, he found himself inside Worachet's apartment, under his student, panting and moaning his name.

Napailing na lang si Anurak nang maramdaman niyang naaapektuhan siya dahil sa simpleng pagkaalala sa nangyari sa kanila ng binata. "This will be the end of me."

"And your career," Wynter pointed out the obvious as she stared at him. "I heard from Narae that this guy, your student, was the one that you had s*x with before the school year started. So it means, it was that guy?" Anurak knew that she was trying to figure out exactly who the person was.

He then gave in and nodded. "His name is Worachet Khankham, and yes, that guy from that night."

Napatango rin ang kaibigang walang kaemo-emosyon sa mukha. "I see... So that's why you acted like that."

Naguguluhang tumingin si Anurak sa babae. "What do you mean? Like what?"

She shrugged and went back to reading the files. "Like you were hesitant. The Anurak I knew would just pull that man's nape and savor his mouth without question." She glanced at him. "But, the Anurak that night invited him for a drink, marked him as his when Narae was about to flirt, and stared at him intently like a hungry predator while you were trying to slow down your alcohol intake." Wynter then smirked as if she was entertained. "So, you got hit by that sh*t like Dom?"

Napabuga si Anurak ng hangin nang makuha niya lahat ng sinabi ni Wynter. He rested his back on the visitor's chair and closed his eyes. "I don't know, Wyn. You tell me," he sounded so tired of everything.

He then heard his friend tsked. "I wanted to sound bitter since I have no say when it comes to sh*ts like that, but you seemed very problematic about it so..." She cleared her throat. "If you love him, then ready yourself for a very rough ride. Life isn't really complicated, it's the people who make it complicated. Always remember, whatever you do, you might lose something. In your situation, it might be your career or him." Napatingin si Anurak sa kaibigan. "Just choose the one which would make you happier. Your happiness is the topmost priority here. And whatever you decide, do know that we all got your back."

Napangiti naman siya sa narinig. "Thanks, Wyn." The lady just shrugged and went back to her work. Nanatili namang tahimik si Anurak at nag-iisip. Your happiness is the topmost priority. Napabuga siya ng hangin. I think I know what would make me happier. Napahilamos naman siya ng mukha niya saka napapikit. Ugh! I miss him already!

Sa sobrang pagfo-focus ni Anurak sa iniisip niya ay hindi niya nakitang napaikot ng mata ang kaibigan niya habang nakatingin ito sa kanya. Both of them finally got hit by that sh*tty emotion. I just hope it won't play with me. Wynter shook her head and continued analyzing her latest patient's documents.

Nang matapos si Anurak sa kaiisip sa binatang nasa Thailand ay napadilat siya saka tumingin sa kaibigan. "Hey, Wyn. Stop working too much."

The woman rolled her eyes. "Nice try," she sarcastically said.

Anurak chuckled and stood up before walking around her desk and holding her arm. "Come on. Let's have some fun. Help me relax. I've been stressed for days now," he reasoned out.

"You could've just shopped or drank non-stop with Narae, for Pete's sake, An." Para namang hindi naiistorbo si Wynter dahil kahit hinihila-hila na ni Anurak ang babae eh tuloy pa rin ito sa pagbabasa.

"Hey, I'm older than you. Listen to me." Anurak finally used that card which earned a glare from Wynter.

"How dare you—"

"Yep, I'm using it so stand up and bond with me. Come on." Anurak grinned when Wynter listened and stood up with a frown. "Shopping, here we come!"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Narae!" Anurak turned his head when he heard his voice. He then saw Worachet hugging his cousin before he gave her a gift. "You're a lot older than me now," he teased.

Narae rolled her eyes. "My cousin is still a lot older than you, you know?" she teased back, which made Anurak shake his head.

As expected, Worachet blushed. Such a cute view. Napangiti na lang si Anurak habang nakatitig sa lalake. "A-Ahm... w-where is he?" he heard him ask.

Ngumisi naman ang pinsan niya saka siya itinuro bago nagsabing, "Enjoy my freaking birthday."

Mahinang natawa na lamang si Anurak saka pinanood na makalapit sa kanya ang binata. "Hey, ajarn," alanganing bati nito sa kanya habang hindi makatingin ng diretso sa mga mata niya.

Mas lalo namang lumaki ang ngiti ni Anurak saka ipinalibot ang braso sa bewang ng binata. "Hey to you too." He kissed his forehead. "Where are your friends?"

"They would be a little late." Worachet snaked his arms on Anurak's waist, copying him before kissing his forehead as well. "I wanted to ahm... do this to you so I... I went ahead."

Anurak could no longer deny the butterflies in his stomach. Worachet and he agreed to stick to whatever they had but they have to be careful since it has to stay a secret from everyone—everyone except Anurak's friends. "Good to know that. You hungry?"

Worachet cutely nodded his head. "Yeah... I want to eat."

Those words didn't look innocent like what Anurak thought. As he looked into the guy's eyes, he could see lust that awakened his friend between his thighs. "I wanna eat you too."

With that thought in their minds, they both went to the second floor of LUST DAWN, unbeknownst to the three people they left shaking their heads with one thought in mind. Anurak seemed to be celebrating earlier than the birthday girl.
