CHAPTER FIVE

TALKING TO the air is now a hobby of Worachet. Ever since his birthday ended, he kept on remembering fragments of an event that happened that night.

Yep! He couldn't exactly remember what happened that night. Basta ang sigurado niya lang ay ginawa niya ang dalawang goal niya. To get wasted and to have s*x.

"Hey, what did he say?" biglang tanong sa kanya ni Star na kalalapit lang sa kanya.

They're currently in a restaurant, and by them, it meant him, Star, and Victoria. Niyaya siya ng dalawa na kumain sa labas dahil simula nang magising siya, kinabukasan ng birthday niya ay wala na siyang ginawa kundi ang magkulong sa apartment na tinitirahan niya pansamantala.

"N'Wor! Did he reply?" tanong na naman nito sa kanya.

Kunot-noong nagtanong naman si Worachet. "Who exactly are we talking about?"

"The air, N'Wor. The air. You've been spending time with it more than us, so I'm asking if it replied to you already," natatawang sagot ni Star sa kanya.

Napailing na lang si Wor saka nag-sorry. "I didn't mean to space out."

Ginulo ni Star ang buhok niya saka ngumiti. "No worries. It's good enough for me that you joined us for lunch." Inayos nito ang kakainin.

Wor's lips formed into a small smile before he stared at the busy Star. It has been weeks but his friends never knew a thing about who he spent his birthday goal with. Kahit naman siya ay hindi buong maalala kung sino ang nakasama, pero sigurado siyang hindi babae ang nakatalik niya.

His fragments of memories made him realize the body built of his one-night partner's body, the manly scent, the firmness of its muscles, and even the voice. Yes, he could remember the voice, but not the face. Ang klaro niyang alaala ay huminto sa parteng may kausap siyang apat na tao. Dalawang babae at dalawang lalake. But he can't even picture those four people's faces.

Muling napabuntong hininga si Worachet. Nang mai-alis sa isip ang problema niyang iyon ay saka lang siya tumayo para kumuha ng kakainin niya.

They were in a buffet restaurant, as requested by Victoria. Speaking of that woman, she's still lurking around the restaurant and picking her food. Kaya naman doon na sumabay si Worachet.

"Oh! Mukhang nakatakas ka na sa bubble of thoughts mo ah," pang-aasar ng kaibigan niya sa kanya.

Wor chuckled a bit. "Sorry for that."

Victoria just shrugged before she pointed at a Filipino dish. "A bowl of this, please," anito sa chef na agad namang sumunod.

"What's that?"

Ngumiti naman sa kanya ang babae. "That's called Nilaga in the Philippines. You should try it. It's really delicious."

Tumango naman siya saka nag-order din ng isang bowl ng Nilaga. Ilang saglit pa silang nag-ikot ni Victoria dahil sabi nito sa kanya ay dapat matikman niya lahat ng mayroon sa restaurant na 'yun. Dapat ay pakonti-konti lang ang kuha para masubukan lahat, kaya naman iyon ang sinunod niya.

Victoria is really a good friend of his. She's a pure Filipina, but since both of her parents work in Thailand, they decided to stay there for good and transferred Victoria to his school. He learned a lot about Filipino cultures from her. She's really talkative and has a great sense of humor. Truth to be told, he once had a crush on her but never confessed it, afraid that it might ruin their friendship. Until one day, his feelings just faded away.
