Chapter 22

Draco entered the room and saw a lump on the bed. He closed the door behind him and went towards the bed slowly. He looked at the time and there were 5 more minutes to midnight. He sat on the side of the bed and watched her face under the moonlight. She looked so peaceful. He stroked her hair lightly and took a deep breath before shaking her awake. 

"Go away." Holly said turning away from him. Draco chuckled at her and moved closer to her. 

"Holly, wake up." Draco tried again and Holly whined lightly before suddenly stopping and turned towards him with her eyes opened widely. 

"You- Draco-" Holly looked around the room. She remembers falling asleep in her room while her grandparents sat beside her. She is still in her room, that means Draco is in her room. She pinched herself to see if it's real and winced slightly. 

"What are you doing?" Draco frowned rubbing lightly on the red skin of her arm. "Are you mad?" 

"What are you doing here?" Holly asked suddenly getting angry. "You are so mean. You just say to be nice to Snape that day and you didn't talk to me for 2 weeks after that. I'm sorry, ok? I am nice to Snape too. Yet, you didn't come to talk to me. Snape said that he will talk to you about it and still you didn't come. I even asked Cissa, she said she will talk to you too and still You. Didn't. Come. When I came to your house, you were so busy with some other girl. How can you do this to me? You said you will be my friend forever and not like Ron and Hermione. Yet, you forgot about me as soon as you got a girlfriend. You are so bad. Very bad. I don't want to talk to you at all. Get out from my room. Go, go." She started pushing him away from her bed.

Draco didn't know what took over his mind and he suddenly bent down and kissed her lips that won't stop scolding him. Just as he kissed the clock chimed 12 times. He pulled away from her slightly and looked into her eyes. He was surprised that she didn't push him away and she doesn't even look angry. 

"Happy birthday darling." Draco whispered before kissing her again. This was not what he planned, but he doesn't mind giving his first kiss to her as a gift. 

"I- What- You- This-" She touched her lips after Draco pulled away from her lips for the second time. 

"I don't have a girlfriend." Draco said casually as if his heart isn't thundering loudly in his chest. He hid all his emotions and waited anxiously to see what she is going to say about this. 

"That girl..." She trailed off. 

"I was planning a surprise birthday party and dad thought it would be best if we asked help of someone who knew how to do plan parties and all. He is some known ally of our family and that's all. It was supposed to be a surprise, but I don't want you to misunderstand anything." Draco said and she nodded her head still trying to grasp the fact that he kissed her, two times. 

"Thank you." She said after a long time realizing that he wished her. "I thought you won't come."

"I was planning everything to be perfect for you." Draco said with a small smile. 

"Thank you." She smiled and hugged him. "I'm sorry about Snape-"

"No, don't apologize. It's not your fault. I was just being stupid. I shouldn't have said all those to you even after knowing how Sev treated you before we came here. Even though he was under compulsions, it still hurts and I should've understood about that." Draco said stroking her long hair. 

Holly didn't say anything for a long time and Draco waited for her to ask something about the kiss. She was too embarrassed to even say the word kiss that she stayed silent and he finally sighed again and opened his mouth.
