Chapter 28

"Feeling better, Bambi?" James asked when Holly opened her eyes. She didn't realize that she fell asleep. She smiled at him which he returned and kissed her forehead. She looked to her other side and saw that Sirius was sleeping beside her. "You fell asleep on him and he moved you both to lie down. He fell asleep watching you."

Holly nodded not saying anything else and just sighed snuggling into Sirius' chest some more. James smiled even more at that and ran his fingers through her hair silently. He knew the people down in the living room must be worrying themselves, but he can't leave her. He just can't. Sirius is there for her, but he wants to be there for her too. He already left her once and he didn't want to do that again. 

"Are you angry at me?" She asked in a whisper. 

"What?" James looked at her confused. "Why would I be angry at you, Bambi?" 

"I said Sirius was the only father I knew and-" "Holly, you didn't know me. It's not your fault that you thought Sirius as your father figure. I'm not angry at you. You do love me and see me as your dad, don't you?" James asked her and she nodded her head slowly.

"That's all that matters to me." James kissed her forehead again. "I love you too. Never think that I'm going to be angry at you for what happened in your life. It's never your fault, darling."

"Thank you so much for accepting me." She choked out and threw herself into his arms. 

"I would accept you no matter what, darling." He said to her. 

"I love you so much. I really do. I always loved my dad. I didn't know him, but I did love him. Sirius is-" "You don't have to explain that, Bambi." James said and she closed her eyes in silence. 

"Are you fine with going down to cut your cake or do you want me to cancel the party?" James asked her. 

"Is it fine if we don't-" "Everything's fine, Bambi. Just say what you want to do." James said to her. 

"I just want to stay with you. I don't want to talk to anyone right now." Holly mumbled and he called Tipsy to tell everyone that Holly is fine and she wants to rest. The party is postponed to next week instead and asked Remus to show everyone their rooms for tonight as they planned before. 

"Are they going to be mad?" She asked him and he didn't say anything for a while. He didn't know how to explain that no one will ever be mad at her for something she didn't do and she shouldn't feel bad about as she is the one who is suffering not the others. "I'm sorry for asking such question."

"Bambi." He sighed and pulled her closer to her. Sirius groaned and moved closer to them as Holly left his arms sandwiching her between both of them. "We love you, sweetheart. We want you to do what you want and what you like. We would never want you to do something just to make us feel good or happy. Understood?" 

"Yes." She nodded her head. "I love you." 

"I love you too." James kissed her head. "We all love you, sweetheart. More than you can imagine." 

"You didn't come to shopping with us to do all this?" She asked him after some time. 

"It was Draco's plan. He wanted to rectify his mistake of making you upset. So, he did all this." James explained to her and she looked at him confused. "He was upset at himself for not talking to you after you were a bit rude to Severus that day. So, Lucius told him to cool down and plan something special for you. Your birthday was coming anyways, so he waited for it to formally ask your hand in front of everyone at the party after surprising you." 

"He must be-" "Bambi, remember what I told you about we loving you no matter what." James stopped her thoughts and she pouted lightly. 

"But, he planned it from so long and I just hid myself in my room cancelling everything." She told him and he smiled at her.
