Chapter 25

"So?" Holly looked around excitedly. "I've never been to Italy before. I went to France with Grandma and Narcissa and that was the first time I went out of the country for the first time."

"Oh, baby don't make me want to go and kill that redhead right now." Sirius groaned placing his hand around her shoulder. "Let's just enjoy the present."

"Who are you and what did you do to my padfoot?"She giggled and he rolled his eyes fondly.

"Why are we shopping in Italy?" Regulus asked confused.

"Dumbledore or Voldemort's supporters can see us." Remus explained. "Here, no one recognizes us and can roam freely."

"That's thoughtful." Rabastan said to him.

"It's dad's idea." Sirius said to him.

"Well, where should we start?" Charlus asked from other side of Holly who was looking around excitedly. "What do you want to buy?" 

"Actually, I went to shopping recently with Grandma and Cissa." Holly said to him. "So, I don't think I need anything right now." 

"Hmm, then we will go to every shop and buy what we think you should have." Sirius said to her and she rolled her eyes at him. 

"Padfoot, that is really not necessary. I don't want to waste your money-" "Pup, my money is your money. It's our money." He said ruffling her hair lightly. "Don't say your money and my money again."

"Exactly." Charlus agreed with her. "It's all ours." 

"You can't win against them dear." Dorea laughed from behind her. "They are two stubborn men."

"Not more than Dad." Holly said and Dorea laughed some more. James is very stubborn when he decides to do something. Charlus smiled at Holly before looking back at Dorea with some sadness in his eyes. He can feel his body growing weak as days passed. Only James knew about them and they were actually surprised when he didn't bring up that topic again. They didn't know if he forgot about it as Holly came to their house the next day or he is just avoiding it. He never stayed alone with either of them and always found some excuse to avoid being alone with them. 

They didn't know what to think about it. They wanted to tell Sirius, Remus and Holly about their condition, but decided to wait a few days till Holly's birthday is over as they didn't want to spoil it for her. She already went through so much and they want her to enjoy her life now as much as she can. They didn't want to steal her happiness from her as soon as she got it. Dorea went to his side and took his hand squeezing it lightly bringing him out of his thoughts. 

"Stop thinking about it, Charlus." She whispered. "We don't want to spoil her special day as soon as it started, do we?"

"I don't want to leave her." Charlus sighed before smiling brightly. "Let's go to the clothes store first." 

"Dad, are you fine?" Sirius pulled him aside when the ladies went to check out the latest designs excitedly. "You looked sad before. Did something happen?" 

"No, I was just sad that Holly never had fun on her birthday before till now and she is already 18 years old." Charlus lied easily and Sirius' anger made him blind to see that. 

"I know right. I just want to kill Evans and her muggle family for doing this to our Bambi." Sirius said to him as he looked at Holly who was laughing with his brother as they talked about something. "She is just so innocent and pure." 

"She is." Remus said coming to their side. "I can't imagine someone hurting her ever." 

"Well, that's Evans for you." Rodolphus said to him. "I don't know much about her, but I never had good feeling when it comes to her."
