Dumbledore frowned when he saw Severus Snape in a rush and talked to a Goblin before going to meet another one. Why is he in so much hurry? What's happening? He needs to know but how is he going to know what's happening? The Goblins won't tell him even as they respect their client's privacy and it's hard to find a Goblin who can be bribed. Maybe Lily can do something and find out from Severus as the compulsions might be still there and he will do anything for Lily. Yeah, that sounded better and he looked one last time to where Severus disappeared. His eyes widened when he saw who he went to meet.
Severus went to Langlock who looked surprised to find him. "Heir Prince. How can I help you?" He asked Severus.
"Po-James is under so many potions and compulsions. He needs to get cleansed. He just fainted and I wanted to ask if you can arrange a private portkey directly to your office?" Severus said hurriedly.
"Potions and compulsions?" Langlock frowned before snapping his fingers and gave the quill on his desk to Severus. "This will bring you directly to the healing wing. I'll be waiting there."
Severus took it and went to the floo when Dumbledore stopped him. Severus blinked at the headmaster before frowning. "Headmaster." He said curtly.
"Severus, what a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect to see you here." Dumbledore smiled.
"Indeed." Severus drawled. "Cause I don't have a vault in here and I don't want money." He said sarcastically.
Dumbledore chuckled with those damn twinkling eyes and Severus wanted to stab them with a knife or even better dagger. After ruining so many lives, he is standing here chuckling. He is worst than the dark lord himself and that is to say something.
"I saw you go to Potter account manager's office Severus. Are you in contact with James?" Dumbledore asked and Severus looked at him blankly.
"Headmaster, not that it is any of your business but my account manager recently passed out." Which is not a lie. "And Langlock is temporarily managing my accounts and shares."
Dumbledore visibly relaxed and Severus had to stop himself from hexing him right then and there but the Goblins won't appreciate a Wizard using their wand in their territory.
"You looked in a hurry. Is everything ok?" Dumbledore asked him and Severus wanted to snap at him to mind his own business.
"I don't think that is any of your business Headmaster." Severus said calmly making Dumbledore narrow his eyes lightly.
"Of course." He was about to say more but Severus didn't have much time. James is in pain and obvious discomfort.
"I'll take my leave then. Good day Headmaster." He said and left towards the floo and vanished into green flames.
Dumbledore didn't like it when someone didn't answer to his question and wanted to torture the greasy git for talking so rudely to him. He sighed inwardly as he got the answers even though he didn't know why Severus was in a hurry but that didn't seem to matter to him anymore. He flooed back to Hogwarts as he was done with his work at the bank.
"What took you so long?" Sirius asked angrily. Severus wanted to snap back at him but he knows that he is worried for James and took a deep breath to control himself.
"I met Dumbledore who asked a bunch of questions before I can escape him." Severus said before taking the quill out. "Let me help." He said supporting James' weight and made sure that his hand is on the quill. Only him, Sirius, Mrs Potter are going to the bank along with James as they don't want to crowd the bank.
"Ah, you're here. Bring him in." Langlock said and Severus lifted James in his arms and laid him on the bed. Sirius and Dorea were a bit shocked that he would do such thing but let it go as Langlock swore loudly.
