"Good morning, Dorea."

"Get lost." Dorea spat only to wince when the man pulled her hair to make her look up at him.

"This is not how you greet your old lover, Dorea." The man grinned at her and she had to stop herself from shivering at the malice in his eyes.

"Doge, let me go. Charlus will skin you alive for touching me." Dorea warned him.

"That fool wouldn't even know where to find you-" Doge yelped letting her go and fell to the ground suddenly. Dorea looked at the doorway to see her son glaring at the man at her feet before rushing towards her.

"Mama." He hugged her as soon as he released her from her bonds and Dorea cried into his chest finally letting her emotions out. She was so afraid that she would die here without seeing her baby boy again. She thought she will die without saying goodbye to her son. She thought the last memory of James and hers would be of when he is still angry at them. She thought so many things and she regretted not talking to James sooner about her health. Her son, her baby boy, she was about to leave him without making sure if he is going to be happy or not.

"Jamie, I'm sorry." Dorea sobbed into his chest and James tightened his hold on her. Dorea didn't hear anyone else entering the room and didn't even want to move away from James at that moment. She wanted to be in her son's arms. It felt good to hug him after so long. He wasn't talking to her from a month and now that her son is hugging her, she felt that she could breathe again normally.

"Mama, I'm sorry for acting like a child. I'm so sorry." James said pulling away and cupping her cheeks. He wiped her tears and kissed her forehead. "I'm so sorry, Mama. I won't let anything happen to you again. I missed you so much. Dad missed you more. He wanted to come, but I couldn't let him fight with his health condition. Holly had to distract him while I left the manor to come and get you as soon as we found how to get through the wards and reach you."

"Jamie, are you not angry at me anymore?" Dorea asked and James shook his head.

"No, mum. I was never angry at you. I was upset at the circumstances and I let my emotions take over. I'm sorry for making you sad." James said and she shook her head.

"It's ok, Jamie." Dorea said and hugged him again.

"We need to go. Dumbledore might be here at any moment." Severus said from behind where he was holding a tied up Doge. Dorea looked at Severus with a smile and he nodded at her. "Are you alright, Dorea?"

"Yes, Severus. I'm fine." Dorea said weakly. James had to hold her tight so that she won't fall down.

"Let's go." James led her out just as Dumbledore apparated outside. Sirius and Remus were guarding outside. Severus cursed and hid inside the cottage so that Dumbledore won't see him. "Shit, he was fast."

"Remember the plan, James. I'll go search for floo." Severus said and James nodded and looked at the scene outside through the keyhole. Dumbledore is clearly trying to get inside without making a scene as there were many people roaming outside. James was never more glad to have listened to Severus.

Severus told them that it would be best if they went to the cottage when the street outside was busy so that Dumbledore can't attack the people in front of everyone and tarnish his reputation that he earned with so much effort. Severus shouldn't have come along with them, but James needed someone to come inside with him and he didn't want to burden his dad more in this situation. Severus was the only option. But, Dumbledore can't see him now as no one can know they are not enemies anymore.

"Nothing." Severus returned to him and James cursed as the scene outside turned into a warzone, almost. Dumbledore was just one step away to say fuck it and start cursing Sirius and Remus. They seemed to be having a heated argument and Dumbledore was clearly losing his patience. James cursed when he saw Holly and Draco behind Dumbledore. "What happened?" Severus asked coming to stand near him and saw through the hole.
