CHARNEL

It was 3 o'clock in the morning when I heard my door bell rung. I immediately went next to the door and since I'm in a condominium, I was able to check on who's outside with the help of a LED screen connected on a camera outside. I saw Edison.

I was hesistant at first to open the door but, "Miss Cazro," aniya nang buksan ko ang pinto.

"Edison?" I murmured seing his worried face. Oo, inaamin kong kinabahan ako bago ko buksan 'yung pinto pero ngayon na nakikita ko na ang kabuuan ng mukha n'ya, parang hindi na ako natatakot, naawa ako. Something must be wrong with him.

"Can I do this to you?" he said as he hugged me. Tighter and tighter until I hear him sobbed, "Edison? Anong problema?" nangangamba kong tanong.

"I don't know. I don't know," he murmured as I hug him back, wiping his shoulder trying to ease the pain he feels.

"Let's stay like this for a while. Could we?" he said, tumango naman ako. It was about 15 minutes that we're just on the same position until he lossen the tightness of his hug.

"That was a relief," he said smiling. I blush. Hey? What's wrong with me?

"Can we talk?" he asked me, he's smiling candidly.

"We're already talking," I said, he smiled again I and flush again, redish like a macopa

"I mean, talk in decent but in an informal way," he said, kumunot ang noo ko. I was about to utter a word nang bigla n'ya akong hinila, we went through stairs until, "We're here," Edison said. We're on the top on the building. I was surprised. I feel nostalgic seing the sleeping city in a 360 degrees vision. I can really see it. Wow.

"Time check, 2:59am," he said as he arched his elbow checking his watched.

"What's up with the time?" tanong ko. Still astonished, nakakahawak pa rin kasi siya sa kamay ko. "Excuse me?" I uttered trying to catch his looking-at-the-sky-while-smiling-attention.

"Hmm?" He smiled at me. I blush, AGAIN.

"'Yung kamay mo," tugon ko.

"Ahh," he smiled and did nothing.

"Your hand," I repeated, trying to look angry while perishing the redness of my cheeks. It's cold but I'm feeling like I'm burning. Gosh! Why is it that I feel like a lechon baboy cooked in a burning uling?

"What's up with your hand?" he said, I rolled my eyes, "Oh." finally! He had let go of my hand, I can't feel the electricity anymore.

"Anong pag-uusapan na'tin? Are you turning your self in?" I ironically said. I know it's a big joke if he'll turn hisself in. 'Yung tipong igi-give up na niya ang hatred and revenge na nasa utak n'ya. Alam kong hindi 'yun mangyayari.

"Yes, I am," he said, with a serious face looking at the sleeping city with few lights scattered like broken christmas liights. And ofcourse, I was shocked. He just said, his turning hisself in like it's what-the-f ck.

"You must be joking," I sarcastically laugh even though I really wanted him to give up anything. Gusto kong magbago si Edison, gusto kong maging mabuti siyang tao. Gusto kong mabuhay siya ng walang iniisip na problema, ng walang nararamdaman na puot. I want him to be free from his past. I wany him to live in the present time... happily.

"When did the last time you heard me joking?" he said in a serious tone. I stopped like a walking stick with some shocked wide eyes. "And also, you don't need to record our converstation anymore," he said as he gets the little recoder on my left hand. I was astonised. Bago ko pa buksan ang pinto, may hawak-hawak na akong recorder.
