'Oh my gosh!!', Carol whisper yelled at Sarah as they set up chairs at the back of the church for the barbecue night that was holding later that night.
'What is it Carol?', she asked as she tucked in stray hair behind her ears.
'He's looking at you!', she hissed back at her.
'Oh yeah? Who?', she asked getting very interested.
'There's a guy in a plaid shirt and cowboy boots. And holy Moses he's coming this way!',
'What?!', she hissed back as a guy reached them.
'Hello ladies, my name is Noah and I'm wondering if you'll mind me giving you a hand?', he introduced himself.
Sarah quickly composed herself and hoped to God he didn't notice her drooling over him.
Boy was fine!!
'Hello, I'm Caroline. But everyone calls me Carol. This is Sarah, and no we don't mind you helping us at all', Carol to the rescue.
'Thank you Caroline, is this all the chairs you'll be needing?',
'Oh no, we have to place chairs all around the tables. Craig had the guys move the tables so we're stuck on chair duty', Carol said all the while gently nudging Sarah to say something.
'Alright ladies, I guess I'm bringing you chairs!',
'I guess you are', she then smacked Sarah who said a thank you to him.
'Was that necessary?!!', she hissed at Carol who was glaring at her.
'A simple introduction would have been nice! Did you see how he was looking at you but trying to not be obvious as well?',
'The way you switch topics has me worried there are two of you sharing that brain of yours',
'Real funny, don't change the subject smarty pants. What did you think of Noah?', Carol said impatiently.
'I think he's cute and I also think you should stow your cupid arrows ', she went back to setting the chairs.
'Too late ', she made a show of shooting two arrows. One to Noah and another to Sarah.
'Looky here, your names rhyme!!',
'Yea whatever', she said without bite.
Noah huh? Cute.....
She smiled at her thoughts and went back work.
Carol soon somehow found a way to be absent. The attention she was getting from Noah had her cheeks heating up.
She never had a reason to blush before. Even now she didn't know why she was blushing.

She'd been spacing out for a while now. Lost in her heads, Scarlett would have been concerned had she not witnessed her talking with the boy.
Young love.
Carl would throw a fit if he found out. It was too early to tell so she'd give her time to keep her head in the clouds.
But not for long though, dinner was on the verge of burning.
'Amore, stir the pot', she said briskly snapping Sarah back to reality.
(Love)
'Oh!', she quickly removed the pot from the stove.
'Mama do I need to make more bread', she tried to go for non-challance but Scarlett saw through it and decided to play along.
'No we have enough',
'Okay Mama', she quickly kissed her cheek and walked as quickly as she could manage without seeming to run out of the kitchen.
'il mio amore', Carl greeted her with a kiss shortly.
(My love)
'Amore',she greeted in return.
(Love)
'How are you?',
'I'm good, how was the farm today?', they'd set up a big farm for the community with the extra land the church had. Giving some portions to some families and working out the trades and payments.
'Quite interesting, our plums should be ready for harvest in about a week. The apples and pears harvest began today. The kids were having a swell time at our expense',
'As usual, did you manage to collect Samuel and Jeremiah before you left?', she stood to pour him a cup of water.
'No, Craig said he'd get them when he returns',
'Well I hope they have space for dinner before they go to bed. Shalom should be in her room though, I don't think I've seen a child as content as she is', she placed the cup of water infront of him.
'Only because she has an amazing Mama',
'And an amazing Papa', she gave him a loving hug and kiss before resuming her seat.
The couple continued their discussion till Craig came in with a basket of fruit and very dirty Samuel and Jeremiah.
'Bath straight! Three of you',
'Yes Mama', they did as they were told. Shortly they were all seated for Dinner where Papa said grace and the family began to eat.
'So, who's the guy that had you all shades of red this afternoon', Craig whispered to Sarah making her shrug.
She wasn't about to give him ammunition.
'A guy we just met while setting up', she whispered back
'Just a guy?',
'Yes, and weren't you supposed to be at the farm in the afternoon?' her voice was slightly raised to catch her parents attention but both of them were promptly ignored
'Nice try, but I'm telling mama the first chance I get that you my dear sister has a crush', he said with a smirk as he put bread into his mouth.
'I do not have a crush on Noah, I just met him!', she said with so much energy that Craig had to smile.
'So he has a name? Nice',
'Leave me alone Craig',
'You my darling sister are officially left alone. For now',
Sarah groaned but continued eating her meal. Twin brothers were so annoying.
'And don't worry, Carol promises not to tell on you as well', she dropped her cutlery and sent a glare to her brother before trying to leave.
A look from Papa killed the plan so she sat right back.
'Your stew is getting cold Sarah, eat up', Craig said looking all concerned making Sarah glare harder.
'Stop that you two. Craig behave, Sarah finish your food', Mama spoke up at last.
'Yes mama', they said at the same time and returned to their meals. But not without Sarah stumping on Craig's foot first.
'Umph!',
Mama raised an eyebrow, ending the squabble before it even began.
