'Alright, here we are. Let's pray. Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for all you do for us as a family. For your love, guidance, provisions and protection. As we delve into this study we pray that your word continually makes new meaning to us. Bless our understanding that we do not miss the rhema for the hour, in Jesus name',
'Amen', the family chorused.
'We'd start with the scriptures. First reading is coming from Ephesians chapter four verses seventeen all through to twenty one. I'd read;
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus.
Number one is our walk.
That same book in Ephesians, if we start from verse twenty one that says 'if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts',
As a Christian there is a way you must conduct yourself, in the way you walk, talk, and behave. You carry God in you, you don't do things just because. You don't dance to every music because every music has an origin, either from God or from the devil.
Even in the way we dress, there is nothing wrong in looking good. But moderation is the key. The bible tell us to do everything in moderation.
Number two is the work.
Ephesians chapter four verses seven and eleven to twelve; But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.
Every christian has been given the ministry of reconciliation. Second Corinthians chapter five verse eighteen, Craig?',
'And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation', he said from memory
'Very good, no matter where you are your primary assignment is winning other people to God-', Laura opened the door at that moment. Sarah beckoned her to seat beside her as Papa continued.
'As a believer, we must note that there is a portion of souls allotted to each of us. These people are your souls, if you don't reach out to them they may never have the chance for repentance and accepting Christ as Lord over their lives.
So at every time an opportunity presents itself, and yes opportunities are always there or we could create them. We should always share the gospel. If you feel you can't talk to the person then let God's word do the talking. Share bibles, distribute tracts. Anything, but ensure you do it. Your voice might be all that person needs to be saved.
The third dynamic is the war.
This is probably the most under taught of the three dynamics. Ephesians chapter six verses ten to seventeen. It says 'Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God',
The war is am essential part of our christian life, in verse twelve we see that our fight is not against our fellow man, nor against the mob or some criminals. Our fight is against the spirits behind them. Verse thirteen says we should put on the whole armor of God.
Now, a very interesting question my precious. How do we war as christians?
Our war has absolutely nothing to do with guns or knives or other physical weapons. But has everything to do with us in our knees in prayers and worship.
When things start going off course of the scriptures we reign it back in the place of prayer!
Matthew twenty six forty one tells us to watch and pray. That, is an instruction not a suggestion.
Sometimes we find ourselves in the company of people who say they are believers but their words are full of mockery and deceit. You might have even heard things like 'its not by prayers', a direct contradiction of what the scriptures tell us.
The war reminds us that our adversary the devil isn't sleeping, he's always on the lookout to cause pain and suffering. But first Peter chapter five verse eight and nine tells us what to do with that defeated fellow.
First Thessalonians five eighteen tells us to pray continually with good reason.
Your prayer life shouldn't be controlled by what's happening around you, definitely not by your emotions. You need to stand fast in your prayers, cause battle after battle we are guaranteed our victory in Christ Jesus!
Stand firm and be vigilant in prayers.
This is what I call a loaded gun!!
Every scripture quoted here is from the King James version (KJV).
