'Si', Noah hurriedly stood up and put the much needed space between the both of them.
'Sarah, go pick up your jacket ', Bishop's tone gave no room for arguements.
Noah stood still fidgeting under his gaze.
'As much as you're looking out for my daughter I'd advise you use your head and weigh the odds before making rash decisions that could cause you your life and at best severe injuries. Stay away from Sarah till everything is resolved ', without saying any more words he turned and left Noah.
He was right of course, but days like these his heart won over his head.
At least he got to talk to her.
With that consoling thought he too made his way home.

Luigi casually paced his office while going through some correspondence that gathered in his absence.
Laura was now married and tucked away in France with Renard, leaving Francine.
Laura just turned seventeen, reason why he stayed longer was to request Renard leave her till she eighteen before getting intimate.
And he got the expected answer in French, mind your fucking business.
He respected that, but he knew Laura was safe. Which by extension included that fool she fancied.
Francine was still sixteen. His father had agreed to wait till she was past her seventeenth birthday before looking into her contracts.
Hosea was to wed some American girl but that was his business.
Finally setting down his work, he walked casually to his office window. He hadn't changed out of his travel clothes, so he went to his room to do just that.
He'd seen that Noah kid while on the ride to the estate. For the sake of amusement he wanted to hurt him, but he stopped himself and chose to get some sleep instead.
After washing up and dressing accordingly he put off the lights in his room and laid down for the night.

Sarah refused to think about what Noah did tonight by risking his neck to come see her.
Some thing was about to happen. She just knew it.
As Papa didn't lecture her about the events of the evening she took it in stride and went to sit at the back where she found Craig already seated.
He looked like he had a lot on his mind.
'Craig, are you okay?',
'Yes', he turned to give her a small smile. As much as they fought they were also the closest of friends.
After a beat of silence Craig finally spoke up.
'I saw it again Sarah, it was too real to be a dream. I don't even know how I knew it was the estate as I've never been there but it was. And you were there! I can't say what you were doing but you were there. The point of all these prayers is for you to not be there, but you're there in the vision-,
'It's okay. We'll be okay-',
'But are you really going to be okay? It's looking like you're about to be thrown into everything we preach against',
Neither of them said a word. Bishop had come outside at some point so he heard everything that Craig said.
His heart sank at the confirmation of what he already knew. He'd seen a vision as well but not exactly what Craig saw.
He saw the bloodshed that'll follow if the Don was denied.
But he didn't feel comfortable about his daughter being the sacrificial lamb for the community.
He made himself known before speaking.
'All these visions are shown to us for us to take actions accordingly. Our Father always has good thoughts and wants to bring us to an expected end. But that doesn't stop the devil from trying. Get some sleep kids, I feel a long day is upon us', they stood and went into the house.
Papa followed them and shut the doors.

The town meeting as usual was held on the first Thursday if every month.
Everyone was gathered, except the kids who were playing at a visible distance with the elderly and some other people to watch them.
The meeting had begun in earnest when the Don made an entrance. Guns were drawn and silence blanketed the hall.
Nobody moved or even dared breathe. The only sounds in the hall was from the children laughing and screaming outside.
'Good day everyone, how insulting. I wasn't invited to the town's meeting again', Luigi said as he walked to the front of the hall.
'But do go on, I'm sure what you were talking about was quite important', he signalled the speaker who began stammering out his report about the farms.
'We..we...we.. we..re.. able, yes able.. to er.. to harvest ..and.and..and..',
'Oh stop with the stuttering! It's a wonder you get anything done. No wonder you guys stay bloody long. Anyone eloquent enough in the building?',
Craig stood and went to the podium and continued reading the reports without breaking a sweat. Luigi gave a smug look.
Brave... I like that ..
'For the next season we want to plant more apples and grapes, and we'll use the opportunity to appeal for Mr Santiago to indulge us for a while longer to complete our debt with him. Thank you',
Bishop took to the podium to share more ideas with the people, share a word and pray.
The meeting was over but nobody could move because of the presence of armed men.
After a while Luigi finally spoke up, 'Now that the important stuff is done with. Let's talk about something much more important to me'.
On cue Noah was dragged and thrown into the hall. He looked severely beaten.
Mrs Giordano screamed.
He was supposed to be days away from here. He embarked on the week long journey last week.
'Oh don't worry, he'd live. Based on the answer I get. Where is my bride?', the only sound was Mrs Giordano's sobbing.
Sarah was torn.
If she stood up she'd seal her fate, if she didn't she'd seal Noah's. A gun cocked answered for her.
She found herself stepping out of behind her parents. He reached for her, just as his hand touched her arm a banging was heard
She immediately jerked up. Someone was knocking her room door.
Just a dream... Thank you Jesus!
'I'm coming!', she dragged her robe before opening the door to her mother.
'Come with me bambina, we've got to pray. The evil day is upon us'.
