The ride to Jungkook's apartment was so quiet. So quiet, that both the men in the car felt a cloud of awkwardness between them. Neither of them wanted to speak because it didn't feel right to do so. Jimin was still in a numbed state from earlier, so his face remained blank but tears continued to roll down his cheeks.
When they arrived at Kook's place, Jungkook helped Jimin as they walked into his place. He kept looking at the man's face to see if anything had changed in his expression, but it hadn't. He would be lying if he said he wasn't worried. He sat the emotionless man down on his couch then moved to the kitchen to get him some water.
"Jimin. I'm not trying to get into your personal business, but is everything okay?" Jungkook handed the glass of water to the quiet man but he didn't seem to want to acknowledge him, so he sat the glass on his coffee table. He sat beside Jimin and, instantly, Jimin stood up facing him with a new expression on his face. He looked upset but also a little fearful.
"Thanks for the help out there but I can handle myself. I should leave. Please don't touch me and let me go." Jimin's words were stern but his voice cracked a little as he spoke. Jungkook held his hands up to show he meant no harm, "Hey I wasn't going to touch you in that way. I'm just a little worried about you. You were crying in the middle of the street."
Jimin was now looking at his phone and texting. Once he finished, he looked up at Kook and sighed as he ran his fingers through his slightly messy hair. "I'm sorry to have caused you trouble. I-I had a bad night and nee-needed to get some air. I guess I zoned out in my thoughts when you found me." Jimin's eyes were soft but tired. He looked exhausted, in Kook's opinion.
"Look, I know you want to leave but I really would feel horrible if you left here in the same way you came. You can wash up, sleep on the couch and leave in the morning. I'll get you some food and make you feel comfortable. Just relax yourself for a bit because you look exhausted." Both of the men were exhausted, truth be told. Jimin was so jittery but he agreed with Kook, even though he wasn't going to say it aloud.
"A nice shower sounds nice..." Jungkook nodded and hurried into his room to set out towels and clothes for his guest. Jimin watched the man move around for a bit before he began looking around the living area. He noticed pictures on some of the walls and also items hanging in in some of the corners. The hanging items looked like appropriate decorations that went with Jungkook's living room set.
Jimin roamed around, looking at the pictures of Jungkook and his brother and some other guy. There were none of his parents and Jimin wondered why but he figured the worst. He just hoped he was wrong. As he approached a corner of the living room, one of the hanging items began to look familiar. He wasn't exactly sure what it was but he wasn't getting a good feeling about it.
He snapped a picture of it and sent it to Tae to see if he had ever seen something like that before. While he waited for a reply from his bestfriend, he continued around the room. He paused when he saw two hunting rifles leaning against the wall and two small pistols sitting on the dresser beside them.
Jimin's brows furrowed a bit as he leaned in to look at them closer but stepped back within seconds when he heard Jungkook's footsteps picking up speed.
"Everything ready?" He asked before the man could say anything. Kook nodded. Jimin could tell he hadn't noticed anything so that was good. Jimin walked into the bathroom and smiled lightly at the small set up for his shower. Cute of him.
Without any hesitation, Jimin began looking through Jungkook's drawers under the sink. He was hoping to find any type of medication he could possibly use for tonight. He found nothing so he stepped back for a moment to calm himself. He was, internally, screaming and it was creeping up his throat at the moment. His hands trembled but he held onto his hair tightly and took slow deep breaths until they stopped.
Bzzzt Bzzzt!
TaeTae: That's a hunting bow. Jimin get the fuck out of there, now!
Jimin stared at the text message. He was, surprisingly, still calm. Maybe it was because he didn't think Jungkook was a threat to him, as of yet. He sighed and replied to his worried friend.
Chiminie: I don't think he is a hunter Tae but if he is, I'm okay for now. He doesn't know what I am. I will see u in the morning. GN :-*
He sat his phone down then started his shower. The water felt so soothing to his body as it warmed him up. He stayed in the shower for almost half an hour before he stepped out and dressed in the clothes Jungkook picked for him.
When he stepped back out into the living room, the couch was set up like a bed with blankets and pillows and the TV was on with the remote on the pillow.
"Everything is ready for you. Relax yourself for tonight and worry about whatever tomorrow. I've actually had a hard night myself, so I will be washing up and heading to bed now. Good night." Jungkook said with a softness in his voice. He walked passed Jimin without waiting on his response. He closed his bedroom door and Jimin decided to curl up under the blankets set out for him.
A small smile played on his lips as he laid down. Jungkook was so nice for this and Jimin appreciated more than he would ever know. Jimin's eyes landed on the guns again and his smile slowly faded. "Who are you?", he asked softly to no one before closing his eyes for the night.
