The moon was showing tonight and Jimin loved it. It was so pretty and, of course, it made him think of his mother. He missed her, as always. He hated that he felt like she was watching him about to do something wrong but, he needed a peace of mind tonight.
He had looked up pharmacies near him and chose the closest one. The streets were packed with people hurrying on their way to wherever. Jimin approached the pharmacy and entered with his head held slightly higher than usual, but not too high to look crazy.
"Jimin?"
Jimin turned his head to the calling and he eyes widened when he saw Voss approaching him. Shit! He forced the biggest smile he could once the man was in front of him, "Hey. How are you?"
Voss smiled but kept a stern eye on him. It seemed as if he was trying to catch a lie in Jimin's body language, as well as his words. "I'm doing well. Never thought I'd see you out of your father's house. Are you any better?" Jimin kept the smile on his face and he hoped it reached his eyes. "Yeah, I'm doing great. I haven't been home in a couple of days , so I'm fine", Jimin chuckled a bit to seemed a bit more convincing.
His eyes looked pass the man to the pharmacists and he mentally smiled. He knew the man and knew that he didn't have to mind control anyone to get what he wanted. That made him feel a little better about it all. Voss turned around to see what Jimin was looking at then looked back down at him.
"I didn't mean to hold you up, just wanted to check on you since I saw you." The man said but he lingered as he waited for Jimin's response. "No worries, I just needed to pick something up. Um, give me a minute and I will accompany you outside. If you want." Jimin said as he placed a hand on the man's chest. He still had a weird feeling deep within him that made him think he was suppose to make sure one of his father's friends were satisfied. He hated that so much, but he couldn't seem to keep himself from those thoughts as of yet.
Voss grabbed Jimin's hand to gently remove it from his chest. His eyes were kind and sympathetic as he spoke, "It's okay Jimin. I'm not interested in that kind of company from you. I wouldn't mind speaking with you more, though. I feel like there are some things that you should know, or rather what you may have been wondering at one point."
Jimin stared at Voss for a minute before nodding then walking past him to the pharmacist who had already noticed him a few minutes ago, and was waiting on him. "No need to speak, friend. Take care." The man said quietly before handing a bag to him that had a fake receipt stapled to it. Jimin smiled sweetly at the man and smirked when the man blushed a bit. He still wants me.
The nervous vampire looked up at the man that was waiting on him and smiled, "Okay, I'm ready. So, what is it you'd like to tell me." They walked out of the store then sat at a small table in front of a cafe. Voss sighed then cleared his throat, "Well, I'm sure you may have questioned how I knew your mother after what I said to you the last time I saw you."
It was quiet as Jimin tried to remember what the man said to him. "Ah", he said with a nod as he remembered.
"Your mother and I were...seeing each other for a while before she had you. She was actually pregnant with you when I met her." Voss spoke slowly as he watched for Jimin's reaction, but the man only stared at him with a blank expression. "She used to tell me about your father...he was never like this back then. She actually loved the man but she didn't love him the way she should have...as his wife."
Jimin's mind was whirling with what Voss was telling him. He didn't know if he should be upset about his mother's infidelity or not. If her heart wasn't with her father then how could he blame her. Being that she became pregnant...
"Are...are you..." Jimin's eyes were now wide but Voss leaned forward, placing a hand on the man's arm to calm him. "No no. That's your real father. Like I said, your mother was already pregnant when I met her. Believe me, if that were the case, that night would have very different for Sung Ho." Voss's tone changed as he ended his statement.
There was a small pain in Jimin's chest. Was he disappointed? Yes. Yes he was. "You would have been a better father than he. Just from what you did for me that night, I believe that." The air felt lighter than what it was a few minutes ago and both of the men smiled. "I appreciate that, Jimin. I loved your mother and did make an effort to take you both from Sung Ho, but your mother wouldn't let me. She told me she valued having you be with your real father. I'm sure she never would have thought that if she knew this would happen."
Jimin swallowed hard as he looked down at his hands then up at the moon, "Yeah, she would be heartbroken. She's probably try to kill that man." He chuckled half-heartedly before standing from his seat.
"Well, thank you for telling me that. Seriously, somehow, it makes me feel better about some things." Jimin spoke to Voss but felt a little too shy about what he was saying to look at the man. He heard the man chuckle then felt large arms wrap around him in a tight hug.
"You're welcome, Jimin. I felt like it would do you some good to hear that and I'm glad I was right. Keep in touch, okay? If you ever need me, I'll be there for you. The time does not matter." Jimin hugged the man back then pulled his phone out to take his number. Once done, they both went their separate ways.
Jimin looked up at the moon with a smile and crescent eyes on his face. In this moment, he was happy.
