Let's Talk

Taehyung switched the light on of the room they had Jungkook held in. The hunter slowly looked up at him with a deepening frown on his face. They sat staring each other for a while before Tae took a step forward.

"You know, he doesn't want to do it... and he doesn't have to if you work with him." The discreet vampire watched as Jungkook shook his head but didn't say anything, at first.

"So, you're a vampire too? I should have known. I figured something was up when a background couldn't be found on you." Tae kept his face blank as he listened to the shocking information he had just received. So, the hunter had been trying to look him up. That, more than likely, meant that he had tried looking Jimin up, as well.

Tae sighed then sat down on the ground in front of Jungkook, crossing his legs under him, "You are actually wrong, Jungkook. I'm very much a human, like yourself, and Jimin is a good friend to me. Aside from what he is, he is a great person. I'm sure you've began to witness that a bit."

Jungkook shook his head again with more force as if he was trying to shake Tae's words from his mind. "All that doesn't matter at this point. He's  a monster. How could you associate yourself with such beings?"

Tae tilted his head to the side as he stared the man in his eyes. Jungkook had some underlying issue with vampires, that's for sure. "What is your issue with vampires? You seem to hate them a lot." 

"That's none of your business. Just know I have my reasons. What are you really in here for?"

Taehyung cleared his throat before leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. "Jimin doesn't want to erase your memories but he will if he absolutely has to. I mean, his life is at stake, can you blame him. Doesn't seem like the talk between you two went well so I'm sure he  is trying to get himself mentally prepared to do it."

Jungkook looked as if he was mentally struggling but he kept quiet as he let Tae continue talking.

"This could be so much easier, if you take the time to get to know Jimin as his real self. He's not like all the other vampires you may have met in your past. From what it sounds like, they probably were savages and probably did something to you that you can not move on from." 

It was silent for a moment as Tae just watched Jungkook as the man leaned his head against the wall behind him. "You know, this isn't the first time I've had to do my job when I didn't want to." 

Tae perked a brow at that. He couldn't help but be interested in the details. " You've gotten intimate with a vampire before?" 

Jungkook looked at him with a serious look in his eyes. He didn't seem as if he wanted to continue the conversation, but he also didn't seem to care about much anymore. "Yeah, had to kill him in the end. I didn't want to do it...but I had to. There was no way I was going to continue to be with someone like that."

"You could have just broken up with him or something. Killing him wasn't the only option."

"I'm a hunter for a reason, and a very good one. Don't insult me. I get that you like to make friends with them but that's not me. I can't." Jungkook switched his gaze to the ground. His mind was a mess at the moment. He was internally screaming at the realization of the situation he had gotten himself in. Jimin was a vampire. The man he felt was beginning to feel like a gift from above, had turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. This was going to hurt him. Shit, it already was but he refused to show it.

"I think you two should talk again. I mean seriously talk. Jimin cares about you and it's not going to be easy to do what he has to do...unless he doesn't have to." Tae stood up from the ground before walking back to the door. "Think about it. I've known Jimin for a while and I am human. He hasn't tried to harm me in any way. I know as a hunter you want to protect humans from vampires, but, believe me, some vampires also need protection. Jimin is one of them."

Jungkook's face turned in confusion at what Taehyung had just said. Protection? Why would Jimin need protection? He could remove someone's head in seconds, if he really wanted to. 

The door closed and Taehyung was gone. Jungkook didn't know what he would say if Jimin did come back in to speak to him. He had killed Felix, but could he do the same to Jimin? Yes, he had grew to care about Felix back then, but it his feelings didn't hit him so strongly as they did with Jimin. Jimin was something else. Jungkook cleared his throat as a dull pain coursed deep in his chest. 

"Fuck."
