Chapter 12

Albie's POV

It's eight in the morning. I opened the documents and read them one more time. Hope I can get this done sooner but Sam's manager is yet to arrive at 8:30, our scheduled meeting. I like being early when I am the one holding the ace. I sighed, 30 more minutes. I looked out at the large windows of the conference room. Seems the weather will play nice today.

I smiled, pick up my phone from the table. Last message ko is from Bianca saying "Go for it, Albie." First good news of the day. They agreed to manage Sam for her existing project na in case maging successful ang ipinunta ko sa meeting nato.

I scrolled and open the message trail with Sam. It's her birthday today. Every year since high school, we have lunch together with her mama. For this year, it will only be the two of us.

Text message:

Albie: Happy birthday Sam! Usual lunch?

Ilang sandali pa, nagreply na sya

Sam: Alam mo balikan mo yung message mo sakin last year. Parang copy paste. Salamat!

Albie: Any other plans?

Sam: Bahay lang.

Albie: Drinks sa gabi?

Sam: Nope.

Albie: Bro, ang boring mo pa rin.

Sam: Nag-hi si mama. Sumbong kita, inaaya mo ako magpakalasing.

Albie: Hoy, 29 ka na!

Sam: Hahahaha! Feeling daw ni mama, 19 pa lang ako.

Albie: So no plans?

Sam: What do you mean? E lagi naman ako ganito.

Albie: E may bago kang friend e na may gusto sayo, malay ko.

Sam: Tigilan mo na nga sya. Kaw talaga. Napaka mo.

Natatawa ako kasi alam nyang wala sya magagawa sa pang-aasar ko, kaya iniignore nya na lang.

Sam: Di nya pala alam na birthday ko. Feeling ko? Kasi di naman mainternet yun. Pero inaya ko sya sa condo, dinner time.

Albie: Ayuuuun. Nung ako pa lang nandito, me-time ang schedule mo sa gabi. Talagang pinagpapalit na naman ako.

Sam: Wag ka nga Albie.

Albie: Sama ako sa dinner!

Sam: No

Albie: Hahahaha!

Sam: Tulog pa ako. Nagcall lang si mama. See you at lunch na!

Albie: Tumatakas sa topic!

My opinion? I know it will take time for Sam to enter another relationship but if Alyssa stays, they will probably end up together. She just needs to be patient.

Ilang sandali pa, pumasok na ng conference room ang manager ni Sam. Before this, I sent her documents related to Sam's modelling project. Aside sa ginamit ko sya para maassess na rin nila Bianca, I make my presence known for the past days para hindi sya mabigla sa meeting na nirequest ko.

Manager: Atty. Casino.

Sam's manager is on her 40s. She met her through Jake Cruz. And I am not sure what he said or do to convince Sam, but she declined Bianca's offer at that time. Bianca's management company is one of the best in the industry. Sam's judgment might be blindsided by Jake years ago which I still can't comprehend until now. My friend is so into him and now, it makes me more mad.
