Pewds

Edgar always loved the park. He had loved it in Sweden, and loves it here. I don't get the thrill to be honest. Ever since I left the hospital, I have hated large crowds. It might have been something to do with my past but I can't remember. The people at school had told me what I had been like. I was apparently rather chatty. I loved to communicate with others but now... It seems like I'm a completely different person from what they described. I hate crowds. Thankfully today there was only the occassional runner.

Edgar had disappeared into a hedge, probably to do business. I stood waiting for him to return. The sun was nice on my skin. I loved its warmth. It was calming. I loud series of barking woke me from my trance.

"Edgar!" I shout. The barking continues. I sigh and head towards the hedge, walking around it to follow his annoying bark. I had entered a woodland area. Edgar was barking somewhere in the trees. This wasn't normal for him. "Edgar!" I shout again. He stopped and after a moment his small figure came bundling around the corner. But he wasn't coming back to me.

"Edgar, deutschland!" He was chasing something... and they were heading straight for me. I went to dodge but Edgar's playmate clawed it's way up my leg. "OW!" I grab the furry fiend and pull it away from me.

It was Kathy. This was a strange coincidence.

"Kathy?!" I heard a guy shout from somewhere behind the trees. The black feline perked up and struggled in my grasp. I put her down and she ran off... and so did Edgar.

"Helveta! Edgar get back here!" I run after him.

Cry

I close the door behind me as I leave the flat. Kathy climbed out through her flap. She'll probably go and sunbathe. I stroke her head and continue to the shops. What to get her. Flowers. She likes flowers. And her last ones are probably dead by now. I stretch and sigh. Right. I'll have a look for flowers, maybe a necklace. Or bracelet. I rub my face under my mask. Damn it. Shopping for the female species is hard.

I get to the shopping mall and I must have walked around for over an hour looking for something. What's worse, it was busy. Way too busy for a Tuesday morning. I have to hurry. Mum will be at mine at 12. I look at my watch. 11. I have a little more time.

I finally settle on a gem necklace and a bouquet of white roses. I start to head home. The temperature is a lot better than yesterday. Instead of trying to cremate me, the sun is merely trying to get me medium rare...

I pass the park and consider sitting down again. It's empty this time. The kids are all at school. I look at my watch. 11:30. It only takes a couple of minutes to get from the park to my place. So why not? I take a seat on the same bench. That was when Kathy appeared out of nowhere. She landed on my lap and brushed her body against my hand.

"You're not normally around here." I say as I stroke her head. She purred for a moment before a she suddenly bolted away. A small black dog went barrelling after her. "Hey!" The dog started barking as he ran. They disappeared into the woodland. "Kathy!" I go after them, but I've already lost sight of them. Not to mention I probably look like a twat running around with the flowers and a Tiffany box. Oh yeah, and the mask.

The dog had stopped barking which didn't help. "Kathy!" I yell. I stay where I am. I'll only end up making this longer. Looking for a black cat in the middle of a woodland. Yeah, would totally work.

Thankfully she came back in a few minutes. The dog didn't get her. I sigh with relief, which didn't last long as the dog came back with her. I pick her up and stand.

"Edgar! Come here!" I hear the voice moments before he broke through a bush. He was breathing a little fast, he must have been running. He turned and faced me.

Blue eyes.

Wait what? He gave a brief surprised look before he saw the dog and Kathy in my arms. He sighed and rubbed his head.

He's sweating, hmm.

Stop it. What the hell was I thinking?

He walked towards me.

Pewds

What in the world? I can't help but tense at the strange sight before me.

The first thing I see is a guy, a little bit under my height, holding a bouquet of flowers, a box that was obviously from a jewellery store and a mask. It didn't cover his whole head, but his face was completely covered. I nearly smiled at the face drawn on it. He was looking at me... and he was holding the cat. I glance down and see Edgar dancing around his feet. I sigh and straighten up, rubbing my head and walking towards him. He seemed to twitch a little at my movement, but I pretend I didn't notice.

"Edgar, get here!" I order the pug. "I'm, uh, I'm sorry, he just took off." I say to the mysterious man. Stop stuttering you idiot.

He seemed to be lost for a moment, his head moving a little. Edgar came over and I begin to put his lead back on.

"It- it's nothing." I paused. His voice was... Deep, smooth...

Gorgeous.

I shake my head slightly and clipped the lead on Edgar. I look at the cat.

"Your cat? Kathy right?" He seemed taken aback. He stroked Kathy's head, who was quite happy in his arms.

"H- how did y-you know?" I was beginning to wonder if this dude had a permanant stutter. I smile.

"She came to my house yesterday morning." I nod at Edgar. "Drove him crazy. I didn't know where she had come from though."

He still seemed a little lost, so I held out my hand. He stared at it for a moment - at least I think he was staring at it, couldn't really tell - before taking it with a shakey hand. I gave a quick shake.

"The name's Pewdiepie, but call me Pewds please."

"Pe- Pewdiepie? Is that foreign? Oh uh," He gripped a little tighter and shook nervously back. "I'm Cry..."

"Cool name bro." I said with a grin. I thought I heard something from behind that mask. I let go and for some reason my hand felt suddenly empty.

Interesting.

"I'm uh... sorry about Kathy... y'know bothering your dog." Damn... he was too cute. I waved it away.

"Don't worry about it." I turned and waved. "I've got to go. But I'll catch you later." I left and went home after he waved back.

I got home, closing the door softly behind me. And I laughed. I laughed more than I had for a while. Man. That was crazy. I unclipped Edgar and let him roam the house, free again.

"That mask though." I smiled. For some reason, I hadn't thought it was too weird. It seemed to suit him. And he was so awkward. I was surprised myself. I didn't seem to faulter like I normally do around people. But his voice... It was so... calming, smooth - despite the stuttering, and gorgeous! I mean wow.

I looked down at my hand. His hands were so soft. My chest suddenly started to ache. I rest my hand on it and breathe in Calm down, don't get worked up.

What is this?
