Bucky and Sam ran to where Ava was lying. Bucky picked her up and carried her back to the couch. Sam looked at Bucky.

"What happened to you?" he asked. "When she kissed you, you didn't fight it."

"I didn't want to. Everything inside of me wanted to be near her. I didn't want to stop touching her. It was the strangest thing I have ever felt." Bucky answered.

"She touched your arm and a dark pink light traveled up your arm. She was controlling your emotions. Just like she did with Walker at the bar and just now." Sam looked at Ava as she lay on the couch. He walked over and picked up the file she had thrown. He sat at the dinning room table and began to read over it.

Bucky continued to look at the sleeping woman. He was confused about his feelings and the memory she unlocked. It was as if he were watching the experience as it happened. He noticed Ava stir on the couch.

"Hey, Ava, are you alright?" Bucky gently asked her. She tried to get up, but he gently pushed her back down. "Just lie there a few minutes, Doll; you passed out. I don't want you to move to quickly."

She looked up at him, "Did you recognize me? Did you remember me from before?" she inquired.

Bucky shook his head. "I didn't. I promise; I don't even remember that mission. How did you see it and how did you make me want to kiss you? I was ready for you to attack me, not seduce me?"

"Like Walker said, I was the Whore of Hydra. I got my information thru physical touch. Most times a kiss would work. Sometimes I had to do more." Sam moved back to the living room as Ava sat up.

"The night you, well the Winter Soldier, came for me, I had been sent to get information from some rich oil tycoon or something. When he took me to his hotel room, there were three other men there. They sat me on the couch and began to touch me. Two were at my feet. One was beside me on the couch; and the target was behind me holding onto my shoulders." Ava closed her eyes at the memory. Could she remember their touches and how scared she felt. She could hear their voices as they told her to calm down and enjoy it.

"When they started lifting the skirt of my dress, I got scared and my control slipped; I started to see their thoughts. They wanted to do awful things to me. I must have started to control them and shared my fear with them. They all fell to the ground, but I couldn't move. When my handler couldn't find me, he contacted Pierce who sent the Winter Soldier in to retrieve me and take care of any witnesses."

"Is that what you did to Walker?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, I made him feel fear. I made him believe horrible things would happen to him if he came near me again." Ava couldn't help the smile that spread across her face; both men smiled as well.

"What about Rumlow?" Bucky asked. Sam looked quickly at Bucky.

"Brock Rumlow?" Sam questioned.

"Yes, Brock Rumlow!" Ava cringed. "Rumlow was tasked with keeping me in line. My only jobs were to submit and find out the information they needed. If it went south, Rumlow was always there to show me what submitting really meant."

The men both wore expressions of rage when they realized what Ava meant.

"How did you get away from Hydra?" Bucky asked as he sat beside Ava on the couch.

"It was actually Rumlow who took me away from Hydra. He became obsessed with me and didn't want me be with anyone else. It was in 2012, actually, during the Battle of New York. My target was killed and Rumlow was my handler. He told Hydra I had died and took me to his house and kept me as a 'distraction'."

"Why didn't you use your powers to control him?" Sam was pacing the living room.

"Hydra made power dampening cuffs that I had to wear. I couldn't use my powers. I guess I ought to thank you, Sam. You were one of the Avengers that killed Rumlow." She sent a small smile Sam's way. "After he died, SHIELD found me when they searched his house. Fury helped me to set up the life I have now."

"You seem at peace with all this," Sam stated, "how did you recover after all that happened to you?"

"Lots of therapy!" Ava replied. "I didn't disappear during the blip, so I spent that time dealing with my demons and trying to heal. But don't be fooled, I still struggle. I don't like to be touched by people unless I am aware it is happening. Even a quick brush of someone's hand can reveal too many of their thoughts."

Bucky quickly looked at her, "Did you see my thoughts when you kissed me? I mean, other than the memories you were trying to find?" He seemed almost bashful with his questions.

"No," she smiled. "I was focused on my mission. I really didn't think anyone would be able to find my trigger words. It is unusual for people to say the name Aphrodite in most conversations, and I have never heard anyone say 'mission, ready' afterwards." She looked over at Sam, "SHIELD has a copy of that file, I foolishly thought it was the only one. If you don't mind, I'd like you to leave that copy with me."

Sam looked at the file again, "I will leave it, but I will have to let Fury know you have it." He spoke apologetically, like he regretted he had to mention it to Fury.

"No worries, Sam. I would have called him and told him about it anyway. I just hope this is the last copy that exists."

"What are you going to do with it?" Bucky asked.

"Burn it."
