Love Me Anyway-A Bucky Barnes Romance (some smut)

Never Again

The next afternoon Ava and Tommy were prepping for opening when Kyle came in. He stopped again to look Ava up and down then gave her a smug smirk before going into the manager's office. 

"What was that about, Aves?" Tommy asked.

"Oh, I didn't tell you. The other night, Bucky was here and Kyle tried to be a douche like usual. He started talking about dress code and started to touch my arm."

"I hate that guy! He knows how you feel about being touched!" Tommy was starting to get angry.

"Well, as soon as he touched me, Bucky grabbed his hand and jerked it off of me. Then he told Kyle that he was never to touch me again." Ava smiled at the memory.

"I like this Bucky even more now! When do I get to meet him?" Tommy gave her a quick grin before moving to the next task.

"I'm not sure. We didn't talk about seeing each other, but maybe he will call me later." Ava was sad that Bucky hadn't called her that morning or showed up with a surprise breakfast. She worried she may have scared him off when she told him how safe she felt with him. She started to doubt the connection they felt and wondered if she just imagined he liked her as much as she liked him. 

"Earth to Ava," Tommy said as he snapped in front of her face. "Where did you go? You looked far away and kind of sad?"

She smiled at him, "Just thinking. Nothing special. Why don't we start some music?" 

"Sounds good. I have almost everything prepared." Tommy turned on the t.v.'s that surrounded the bar and then set up the music to play over the speakers. "Now tell me about your date with the savage beast."

Ava couldn't help but smile. "It was wonderful. We took his motorcycle to a movie and dinner then we went to the hiking trail and talked."

"And then you kissed!" Tommy said excitedly. 

"Yes, weirdo. You are a little too interested in this," Ava teased. 

"Sorry, sorry, but, Aves, as long as I have known you, you have never been on a date or showed interest in anyone. This is a big deal!" Tommy said a bit too loudly. 

"Calm down, psycho!" Ava giggled. 

Kyle emerged from his hiding place. "Tommy, I need you to go to the store and pick up some stuff for the bar. We ran out of this stuff and can't wait for the delivery truck," He handed Tommy a list and the bar's credit card. Tommy looked at Ava, who nodded, before taking the list and heading out the door.

Kyle then walked over to Ava and got close to her. "So, I talked to Tiny last night. Told him you were being a little belligerent with me. How do you think he reacted to that?" Kyle ran his eyes up and down Ava's body. 

"First, step back. I don't need you in my personal space-"

Before she could finish Kyle grabbed her arm and jerked her to him. "Look, I don't know what your deal is. You have been playing hard to get for a while now. I'm getting tired of waiting around for you to say yes. Then you flirted with some guy in front of me the other night. Now you are bragging about your date so I could hear you. You're trying to make me jealous; so I think I might need to show you what you are missing with me." 

He began to lean his head down, intending to kiss her. Ava tried to pull back and then sent her powers thru him, making him feel revulsion and guilt. As Kyle jerked back, she punched him in the face and ran toward the front door. Before she could get there, he wrapped his arms around her waist and slammed her head into the wall momentarily addling her. 

He started walking to the manager's office, dragging her with him while saying, "I know what you need, Ava, and I'm going to make sure you get it."

It took Ava a second to shake off being hit. "Kyle, stop!" she screamed. She tried to use her powers, but couldn't focus because of her fear and the pain in her head. She began to struggle and pull back, screaming as she did, "No! This will not happen to me! Never again! Let me GO!" She scratched at Kyle's arms, drawing blood and angering him even more. He turned toward her and slapped her across the face. 

Suddenly there was a loud crash.

Kyle and Ava both looked up to see Bucky coming thru the door he had just  kicked in. 

"Get your fucking hands off of her!" he yelled as he ran toward the two of them, which caused Kyle to release Ava. 

Bucky wasted no time in grabbing Kyle by his shirt collar and lifting him off the ground. "Get out and if I ever see you near Ava again, I will kill you!" He walked Kyle to the door and pushed him into the parking lot. Kyle wisely chose to get in his car and leave.

Bucky turned to Ava and began to reach out to her. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you?" He hesitated before he touched her, afraid she wouldn't want to have any contact with anyone, but, instead, she threw herself in his arms and started to cry. 

"It's o.k. Honey, you're good. He won't bother you ever again." He shushed her as he rocked back and forth trying to calm her. 

Tommy returned from the store to see the front door destroyed, Ava crying, and Bucky holding her. "What the fuck happened? Why are you crying, did he hurt you?" He gave Bucky a dirty look and reached to take Ava away, causing Bucky to step back with her.

"No, Tommy, he didn't hurt me. Kyle tried to..." Ava sobbed before she could finish.

"Where is the motherfucker?" Tommy yelled, "I will kill him!" 

"He's gone," Bucky told him, "if he wants to live, he won't show his face again." He stroked Ava's hair while he spoke. He didn't want to let go of her, but they needed to take care of this situation. 

After a phone call, Tiny came to the bar to look at the damage and speak to Ava. He assured her that Kyle would be fired. The cops were also called so Ava could press charges. The officer asked her to come to the police station to give her statement; they also took the security camera footage from the bar. Tommy and Bucky went with her to the station, Bucky drove her in her car and Tommy followed in his. 

The detective who questioned her promised they would have Kyle in custody before the next day and sent all three of them home.
