After a brief discussion with Tommy, Bucky drove Ava home in her car. He had left his motorcycle at the bar. Tommy had wanted to drive her home, but Bucky told him no, he said Tommy and Scott could come to her house in a little bit to check on her.

Ava was quiet on the drive home. When they got to her house, she said she was going to take a shower. Bucky wasn't sure what to say or do. He knew that she had to be terrified, and he worried this would undo the progress she had made. She had been adjusting so well and to have some asshole take that away made him wish he had killed Kyle.

Ava came out of her bedroom wearing leggings and a long sleeved shirt. She had washed off her makeup and her hair was still wet and hung down her back. Bucky thought she was the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on.

"Hey, Doll, what can I do?" he asked helplessly as he saw her bloodshot eyes.

She looked at him and shrugged, "Can you just hold me? Maybe watch a movie on the couch or something?"

"Absolutely," he answered. "Do you want to order something to eat? Maybe a pizza? I think Tommy and Scott want to come over to check on you; they can eat with us."

"Yeah, that would be good."

Bucky hesitated, "Ava, why didn't you use your powers on him?"

"I tried. He had slammed my head into the wall and it addled me. Then I was so scared I couldn't focus enough to use my powers. I told you I'm not as strong as a super soldier, so he was stronger than me as well."

"I'm sorry, Ava, I wish I had been there earlier. It never would have happened if I were in there with you."

"Bucky, you can't blame yourself. How could either of us have suspected this would happen. You saved me! He didn't hurt me, not really anyway. I promise it will be fine." Ava headed over to the couch to sit down, "Now, come sit with me."

A few minutes later, the doorbell rang and Tommy and Scott rushed in before Bucky could get to the door. Scott stood beside Bucky while Tommy immediately rushed to the couch where Ava was sitting. He wrapped her in a hug and started to rock her back and forth.

"Hi, I'm Scott. You must be Bucky; I appreciate you taking care of our girl." He looked Bucky in the eye as they shook hands. "You have no idea how much she means to us," he added before walking toward the couch.

While they talked, Bucky called to order pizza and drinks. "Food will be here in about twenty minutes," he told them as he entered the living room.

"Thanks, Bucky," Ava smiled at him. It didn't quite reach her eyes, but it was a start.

For the next two hours the group ate and talked and laughed. Ava began to act a little more like herself and joined in the conversation. Finally, Tommy and Scott decided to head home. Tommy took Bucky to the side before leaving.

"Please watch over her tonight. I am worried about her." He gave Bucky a long look.

"Of course, I will. She means a lot to me." Bucky replied.  The men shook hands with each other and Bucky walked them to the door.

"I think they like you," Ava grinned as he returned to the couch. He sat beside her and she moved under his arm to be held.

"I like them, too." He replied back, smirking he added, "but they didn't let me sit beside my best girl while they were here. I may have to buy you a bigger couch."

Ava giggled. "Let's watch that movie you promised me."

"Anything for you, Doll."

They watched the movie in silence. When it was over, Ava looked at Bucky, "Could you stay here with my tonight? I don't want to be alone."

"Of course I will," he told her, "I'll sleep on the couch."

"No!" she told him, struggling to get the words out, "I want you to sleep in bed with me. I need you to hold me."

"Whatever you need, Ava, I'm here."
