I wake up to my little sister, Lily, yelling, "Get Up!"
I open my eyes and sigh and asked her, "why are you yelling?"
"Because I can." She smiles.
She hops on my bed and starts humming to Let It Go from the movie Frozen.
I sit up, smile at her, and look over at the clock to see what time it is.
"Shit!!" I yell getting up.
"Emma your not allowed to say words like that!" Lily says covering her ears.
"Sorry but, it's 7:50! I only have 10 minutes to get ready!" I say rushing to my bathroom to take a shower.
I'm in the shower for less than four minutes.
I go over to my closet and grab a pair of skinny jeans and a white t-shirt.
I quickly get dressed, put my hair in a ponytail, and rush downstairs to leave.
Before I can get to the front door my mother grabs my arm.
"What mom? I have to go, I'm late." I say quickly.
"Hunter got picked up from his girlfriend by the way. And you need breakfast." She hands me a cinnamon pop tart.
"Thanks." I kiss her cheek and run to my car.
My mom is incredibly nice and laid back. She doesn't care if I skip school every now and then, just as long it's not too many days. I swear she could never hurt a fly. She doesn't even yell at us when we get in trouble.
But, when we do get in trouble, she gives us this disappointed look and says in a low steady voice, 'you should know better.'
She just kind of guilt trips you, and it makes us feel guilty. She usually grounds us also.
After a while I reach the school.
I feel Relief for a second, then I look at the time on my phone.
8:10 am.
"Dammit, I'm late." I say to myself.
Well, there goes my perfect attendance record.
The last time I was out or late for school was sophomore year and I'm a senior now.
I can't believe I actually forgot to set my alarm.
'Well, if you wouldn't have been day dreaming about Dylan Evans then...' My inner conscious starts to say before I cut that thought off.
I run to the office to get a tardy note.
"Good morning Emma." Cathy says
Cathy is the lady at the front desk. She is the nicest person I have ever met.
"Morning." I say back.
She gives me the note and I head to math class, where Mr Asshole is.
My day just keeps getting better and better (note the sarcasm).
I walk in the class and Mr Edwards says, "well, look who decides to show up." I roll my eyes and give him the note and walk over to my seat.
Right when I sit down Dylan walks in the room.
"Well, I guess we get the presence of one more person." Dylan rolls his eyes and sits down next to me.
Of all places it has to be beside of me.
Why God? Why?
"Morning." He says with once again a smirk.
"Yep." I say sarcastically.
