Y/N POV ~
Hoseok's ship could be seen from Y/N's room as her sister helped dress her for her wedding ritual. The sound of people's cheering echoed throughout the harbor as they welcomed Hoseok.
"Hear that, Y/N? Your groom has arrived."
Your sister's voice whispered in your ear as she brushed out your long hair.
"Get her dress and the necklace while she's counting crows," your sister said, ordering the servants around as she always did.
"I'm not counting anything. I'm thinking. It's a pity there are no more dragons," you commented to your sister, unhappy with the arranged marriage to Hoseok.
"Stop it! You'll jinx your wedding day," your sister chided, pulling softly on your hair.
"Would you rather a dragon take you away and Hoseok fight him?" she asked, her patience growing shorter with you.
"At least then I would've married a dragon-slayer," you complained.
"Don't you have other worries?" your sister asked, her frustration with you growing.
You frowned as the paper dragon you had constructed refused to fly each time you tossed it around.
"My toy dragon won't fly..."
"You've got your head in the clouds. Your toy, your groom - it's all the same to you. You have no feelings," she murmured just loud enough to hear.
"What?" you asked, turned to look at her.
"Nothing. Sit still," Yara commanded, pulling on your hair once more.
"You're envious because you're still unmarried. By the way, Hoseok has the best horse in the land..." you began teasing before your sister tugged harder on your hair, silencing you.
"Marry his horse then," she grumbled, her tugging growing harder.
"You're hurting me!" you cried out, grasping your head, afraid she might rip the hair right out of your scalp.
"Let go of this ridiculous toy!" she snapped, her tugging becoming more painful.
As her tugging grew, she managed to slap the toy out of your grasp, sending the paper dragon into the water.
"Marriage is not a game, Y/N! It's your life!"
Pulling at your hair, escaping her grasp, you flung around, furious at her actions towards you.
"Leave me alone, Yara! You're not my mother!" you snapped, folding your arms against your chest.
"Perhaps your heart is silent because you don't have one," Yara murmured.
"Don't you dare say that! Keep waiting for true love, you old maid!" your anger controlling your tongue as you lashed back at your sister.
"What?!" your sister questioned, her face evident of the hurt your words had caused her.
You felt guilty before the door to your chambers opened, revealing your father.
"What's going on here? Is she misbehaving again?" your father asked, grabbing one of your paper dragons from the table.
"But daddy, she..." you argued.
"Stop it! Everyone's waiting, and you're still quarreling with your sister!" he said, raising his voice.
"If only you knew, Dad, what she said to me..." you mumbled, loud enough for him to hear as he walked away from you.
He paused, his gaze changing between you and Yara.
