Y/N POV ~

"Look around you. The entire island is a dragon—my great ancestor. The rocks, the cliffs - they are his bones. He guards this place. From here, you can see the clear blue sky, while those ships see nothing but fog and are destined to roam around in it until death. Sometimes, shipwrecks and things from them wash up on the shore, but a traveler can reach the island only if a loving girl's heart awaits him here."

"The heart..." you mumbled, unsure if your heart belonged to Hoseok.

"Yes. It will show him the way, like a beacon."

"That means that the dragon-slayer found this island only because the girl loved him, right?" you asked, concerned that you will be trapped on the island forever.

"Like I said, it depends on you alone. If you love him, he will come for you," he said, walking away.

Sitting beside a bush of flowers, your mind was racing.

How could you love someone you've never met before?

Yoongi POV ~

He turned, noticing that Y/N was not following him. He saw her playing with a bush with tiny flowers on it.

"What are you doing?" he asked, confused by her actions.

"When a person receives a gift of flowers, they know they are loved. Something important takes place between the two people. I also heard people say that if you put flowers into the sea, your beloved, wherever he may be, will know that you think of him," she said, throwing a small handful of flowers into the sea.

His heart hurt, hearing her speak of another. But he couldn't allow himself to be jealous. He was a dragon, cursed to only bring pain and sorrow to her. But he wondered if she believed the tales.

"So... will Hoseok come for you?" he asked, hoping she would say no, but yes at the same time.

"Of course, he will," she said, looking at him.

Yoongi could only feel angry by this response. He wanted her to be his, even if they were cursed never to be together.

"He'd better hurry then. You'll wait for him in the pit," he said, storming away from her.

"In the pit? Yoongi, can I  just sail away?"

"No, you can't. You tried to escape once, and we both nearly..."

The stick supporting his weight collapsed, sending him to the ground, a groan escaping his lips.

"Yoongi, are you alright?"

"Stay away! Don't touch me! Go to the pit! Don't you get it?" he growled, the dragon just brimming under the surface.

"No, I can't just leave you here."

"Don't worry. I'll manage. I'm used to being on my own," taking in deep breaths, he tried to calm the dragon.

"If you preferred to be on your own, I wouldn't have woken up under a warm blanket today."

"Y/N the dragon can come out at any moment," he retorted, annoyed by her constant pressuring.

"If so, then why hasn't he come out yet?" she asked.

"I don't know," he answered, her question true, but he wouldn't let the dragon win.

"Perhaps I'm still too weak," he answered, looking at her crouched down beside him.

"Or perhaps, the human in you is growing stronger?"

"Do you really think so?" he asked, a tiny flicker of hope rising within him.

"I can see it. You saved me, fed me, healed my wounds. You took care of me. You'll be able to overcome him like you wanted to. I'll help you. While we're waiting for Hoseok's arrival, I'll teach you to lie like a human," she said, giving him a gentle smile.

"Please forgive me for what happened yesterday," he said, admiring her, as she stood.

He watched her pick up his broken stick and extend it to him.

"That's a good start," she said, smiling.

Taking the end of the stick closest to him, he stood with her pulling him up on the other end of the stick.

Maybe there was hope for them to be friends.
