Yoongi POV ~

He stood up from the ground, his body covered in sweat as he took deep breaths. Y/N's voice echoed in his ears, conversations he had with her, as he noticed something strange in the water.

"Have you tried to run away?" her voice asked.

"You can't run away from here," his voice answered.

"So you can sail away..."

"I call them celestial flowers...."

"They can be seen from the ends of the world... I'm terrified of the dragon, Yoongi... All this time, I've been preparing to... They can be seen from the ends of the world... Will you help me escape?... So you can sail away... All this time, I've been preparing to... I have to escape... Help me!" her voice continued to echo.

Y/N POV~

"Do you hear me? Where are you, Yoongi?"

You walked around the dungeon of the island, where the caverns and caves were lit by very little light. You walked over to a circular stone with white lines running through it.

"Approach the altar," Yoongi's voice echoed.

You approached the circular stone that Yoongi's voice referred to as the altar.

"Get closer," his voice instructed.

Taking a step closer, the light was shining directly on the altar, the white lines now appearing like dust.

"Have you ever wondered why, on an island where so many young women had perished, there isn't a single skeleton or even a bone? You call us "dragons," but we call ourselves "those born from ashes."

You turned to see Yoongi standing with a torch in his hand, throwing it past you onto the altar. You turned to look at the torch, but it wasn't a torch. It was a wooden doll of a woman.

"This... is what dragons do to the brides of men. They don't just kill them. They burn them alive. They fill them with fire and hold them in their claws while they scream in agony as the fire consumes them from within. Until all that's left is smoldering ashes... and a new dragon. That's how I was born. That's how dragons further their race. That's what's going to happen to you too, Y/N."

"Why are you telling me this?" you asked, looking over your shoulder to look at him.

"I am a freak... I can't ever live like a human."

"I think you're wrong..." you said, turning to see Yoongi turned away from you.

"I know about the boat!" he yelled, turning to face you, the anger on his face evident.

"Yoongi..." you called to him, every fiber in your body burning to stay with him.

"I know why you didn't want to stay in the pit: you wanted to escape. You had a plan..." I'll teach you to live like a human,"... to get a hold of materials and maps, to learn to send signals to the ships. there was only one thing left... "Will you teach me to see the wind?"... to overcome the curse of the island preventing you from sailing away."

"Yoongi, I didn't know I would..." you started but were quickly cut off.

"I don't blame you. You're right. You should be scared of me. You said I could subdue the dragon. I tried, but it's pointless because you don't believe in me.

"Yoongi..."

"Enough! Tomorrow at sunrise, you'll get into the boat and hoist the sail. The east wind will take you to the open sea, where the ships sail," he said, walking away from you.

"Don't go! What about the new man? Remember? He needs me!" you shouted, chasing after him.

"Only the dragon needs you here!" he shouted, looking at you, his eyes reflecting an orange anger fire.

You gasped to see him so angry at you and see the raging fire in his eyes from the dragon.

"Go away!" he shouted, throwing the only gift you had given to him.

The flute bounced against the rocks, setting in the rubble just before your feet. You watched as he walked away from you, tears stinging in your eyes. Your time with him was done. He was sending you away.

Falling in front of you down the path, you could see the same fire trying to consume his body from the dragon. Your hand reached out for him, but you stopped, realizing he no longer wanted you, just like everyone else.

Your feet felt like lead as you took slow and heavy steps away from him towards the shoreline. The sound of the dragon's roar sounded muffled in your ears. Looking behind you, you could see the dragon stuck between the two walls of the dungeon. Keeping it trapped, just like Yoongi had said it would.
