Chapter 86

With the league...

Mr Compress got through the entrance of their hideout and, immediately, all eyes were on him. He sighed in disappointment, shaking his head slightly. And, as if the others understood, they turned to look at the ground sadly. Shigaraki brought a hand to his head. All these things had been starting to give him a headache.

"Maybe we shouldn't give up just yet", said Spinner in a desperate attempt to lift everyone's mood. Though the despair on his own voice made it plainly obvious that he didn't have that much faith left himself. Twice groaned at that. "You really didn't hear anything about him?", he questioned the masked villain, who just shook his head.

"If we look at it from another angle, maybe that's a good thing. If he had been caught, then it would gave been all over the news. People would have known. He might still be out there looking for that associate of ours". The two other members appeared to get hopeful at his words. Not Shigaraki however.

The leader stood up and brushed of the dust from his clothes. The others paid him no mind as they kept talking. "I am willing to try again tomorrow. Get us some food while I am at it. I can look into the forest too", said Mr Compress. Spinner raised his hand. "In that case, I will accompany you. Two people are better than one. We will cover more ground. With your permission, of course, sir". He turned toward Shigaraki expecting an answer.

"It's just a waste of time", he said as he dismissed them. They looked at him surprised. He sighed and shook his head. He felt the itchiness around his neck, but ultimately fought against it. Now it was not the time. "Kurogiri was probably caught and the heroes are keeping the information from becoming public knowledge. Probably because they hope to drag us out to. There is no use trying to find him any more. Had the search taken longer, he would have come back to let me know. We must give up".

Spinner shook his head in disbelief. They were down another member of theirs. So, what was left for them now? Was this the end of their all mighty League of Villains. He gritted his teeth in annoyance. He really hoped that was not the case. Because for him, there wasn't anywhere else to go. For none of them. Frowning, he dared to ask what was on his mind. "So, where do we go from here? Is there even anything left for us to do?".

He motioned around him to the place they were staying. The rundown walls, the holes on the ceiling as well as the dirt that stained the concrete. What they have come to view as a base after All for One's fall from grace was nothing more than a collapsing structure hidden in the mountains. The were all aware of these conditions, but had chosen to ultimately ignore them. For their greater good. But it has now started to became obvious, that they were in a far worst position than what they wanted to believe.

"Is this the place you fandom this organization growing? Do you understand that in under one month we are down 2 members? And don't get me started with Dabi! What we have been doing up until now is not a solution anymore. We need a plan Shigaraki. We need new members, we need more power. And I now that your master has something planned. Something that you know but refuse to tell us!"

He sighed, taking in a deep breath to calm himself. "I am not angry with you boss. I understand that you are doing your best. Just know, that we are members of your team. And we will do whatever you tell us to. That means, you can trust us and you can let us in on whatever wicked plan your sensei has prepared for you and all of us".

Shigaraki looked at him idly for a moment. It was as if he was trying to comprehend what he had been told. Then, he started to smile. That smile soon turned into a grin and then he started chuckling. Surprised, the others leaned further away from him. Shigaraki however had started maniacally laughing.

Eyes glistening with insanity, the young man kept on giggling in an attempt to stop himself. "Very jive performance Spinner! Very nice performance indeed! But are you sure you are ready to know what is in store for us!?". The lizard quirk wielder gulped audibly, his previous serge of confidence having abandoned him. He nodded however, even if his while body was trembling.
