I've been ranting here and there about the cliche things in animé but at the end of the day, I still love it, and nothing is gonna change that.
So this is why I decided to make this part special. It's a personal list of what dragged me into such a beautiful addiction.
Instead of a negative rant, it's more of the rare positive ones.
Every animé has a lesson. It isn't just high or low graphic Japanese shit you throw at people to gain money. It's a story taken from the deepest depths of the writer's imaginations. Their emotions. Their very heart itself.
And in most animé, different characters have different stories, giving out different lessons in life.
And, who knows, with millions of characters in existence right now, maybe you can relate with the position of one or two of them. So you could do what they did and solve your problems.
When I say animé is life, I don't mean I spent most of my days watching girls in school uniforms or hentai. I mean that there are lessons in animé you'll never find anywhere else and you can apply them in your life.
So believe me when I say animé is life.
And here are some of the lessons:
1. Fight for your dreams.
You must admit it. It's almost in every animé where they talk about how you shouldn't give up easily and that no matter what, you must be strong.
No matter what bullshit fate throws at you, may it be a sudden change in gender or the destruction of everything you love, you must never give up. Stand the fuck up and reach your goals, damn.
2 & 3. Value friendship and accept people the way they are
They prank us, embarrass us, push us in front of our crushes just to see us panick inside. Friends can be cruel, crazy, obnoxious, weird and completely out of this world.
In other places, you'd secretly hate and backstab these people the moment they turn around.
But in animé? They teach us to accept their eccentricity instead. And when you learn their imperfections, that's when your bonds gets stronger.
4. Learn to forgive
How many times has it happened in animé when they become friends with their foes right after a death match?
You see, instead of hating people for defeating you, you should acknowledge them instead.
And sometimes, it was even the bully who they become friends with. Or perhaps they've been opposing each other for 88% of the show but in the end, they learn to set aside their differences to defeat a common enemy.
I don't know what Chinese shit Sam Sparks said in Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 but the translation said A bully turned to friend, is a friend for life. And this phrase is directly applied to animé.
5. Accept death.
Don't you just hate it how in other shows, the good guys never die just because they're the fucking good guys.
Well, this shit is not on animé.
You could be the kindest person alive, but you'd still die. Heck, you could even be the protagonist yourself and you'd still die!
I'm not saying that it's right that people on animé are killed all the time. I'm just explaining that animé teaches us that death can happen to anyone. Even if you're bad or good. So when you lose someone dear to you, learn to accept it and move on. No matter how painful.
6. Prioritize your loved ones
Okay, we don't need animé to learn about this. But recently, people are getting more and more selfish.
There has been a huge increase on people who would sacrifice the ones important to them just to get what they need.
Animé's role on this lesson is basically just to be a maintenance. It reminds us to be righteous and never forget how life would become if we didn't have these people around us.
7. Everything has a price
You cannot have something without exchanging it with another. Nothing in life is free anymore. It's full of consequences and responsibilities.
Yes, this seems bad but it can also be good. Because if you lose something, it means soon enough, you'll gain something else in return!
8. Revenge isn't as satisfying as it seems
Ciel. Kurapika. Sasuke. Other-characters-looking-for-revenge-that-I-completely-forgot.
Look what they all had in common?
That's right. The thirst for revenge.
And what else?
Regretting revenge in the end, anyways.
As that priest dude in Deliver Us From Evil said. "It's not justice you're looking for. It's revenge. And vengeance always destroy the avenger."
So just in case your clan was killed by the most notorious gang or your brother suddenly decided to murder your family, don't do it bruh.
9. Let it go
If you think I'm singing right now, you're damn right I am.
Anyway, this lesson is a lighter version from number 8.
To the pain once given to you by the people around you, you need to set them free to get rid of the burden. There's no point in keeping it with you because it will only hurt more.
10. Accept yourself
People will always judge you if you're different. That's how things are. But you will never be able to please everyone all at once so what's the point of trying to be someone you're not when in the end, the results are the same?
Animé teaches us to embrace what makes us weird. Eccentric. Or the word I prefer, unique.
You'd be happier with yourself even if not with others.
So, haters. Do y'all see what animé brings to us now? It teaches us not only to love everybody around us, but ourselves as well.
You can call us whatever the fuck u want. See if we care bitches lol. XD
Now I'm gonna say this phrase once again and if I do, tell me if you still feel the same way about it.
ANIME IS LIFE!
There are waaay more lessons found in animé that I may have also forgotten but I hope u enjoyed these.
But I'm not done yet, tho.
Here are crazier animé lessons:
1. Madoka Magic - if you don't succeed, try and try again.
Translation: if ur friend keeps dying, try a new timeline
2. One Piece - don't judge the book by its cover
Translation: what looks like a weird fruit will change your life
3. Clannad - love ur family because one day you might lose them
Translation: bond as much as u can cuz if u don't, life will give u some feels god bless
Sometimes, I just feel too lazy to type properly.
