"How do you reckon we do this?" You stood staring at the camp with your hands on your hips. Arthur stood beside you, his finger pressed to his chin as he tried to think. "We're just gonna do it." He let out a deep breath as he made his way over to Hosea and Dutch, who were sitting outside their tents.
You eagerly waited as you watched Arthur approach them. It was hard to read their faces, since Hosea kept a straight face but Dutch's lips soon turned down into a frown. "Great." You muttered to yourself as you continued to watch their conversation.
Dutch stood up from his seat and got closer to Arthur, as if challenging him. You could see Arthur's shoulders tense up as Dutch got closer. "What the hell is going on over there?" Sadie came up beside you, her eyes also glued to the conversation.
You held out your hand, flashing the silver ring that sat on your ring finger. "Ah congrats!" Sadie patted your back as she admired the ring. "I ain't know Arthur had it in him." She wrapped her arm around your shoulder, giving you a quick hug before heading back off to her chores.
Arthur was now walking away from Dutch and Hosea, a stern look plastered on his face. "I take it Dutch didn't like that?" You asked as you grabbed onto Arthur, pulling him off towards his tent. "He's fine with us gettin' married and all that, it's the moving from the gang he ain't like too much." Arthur sat down on a crate outside his tent and sat with his head in his hands.
"I'm sure he'll come around, as long as Hosea likes the idea." You rubbed Arthur's back and bent over to place a kiss on his temple. "Of course he's fine with it, but Dutch has got to be Dutch." He straightened out his back and stood up from the crate. "I gotta talk to John." Arthur looked over to the man who was walking around in the woods surrounding the camp. "Have fun with that." You smiled as he walked off towards John and you were left standing in front of his tent. "Y/N, a word?" Hosea appeared out of nowhere, his expression soft as he met your eyes. "Of course." You walked with Hosea towards the center of the camp, where the large wooden table was situated.
You sat down across from Hosea, your elbows resting on the table as he pulled himself together. "You know I love Arthur, like a son and you have made a great contribution to the gang. I'm all for you and Arthur leaving the gang, but Dutch isn't on board." Hosea looked past you and towards Dutch's tent.
"That's what Arthur said." You frowned as you turned around to look at Dutch, who was sitting on his cot, staring at the canvas of the tent. "If we can keep this between us, and Arthur... a wagon can be prepared for your departure, whenever you're ready." Hosea winked as he stood up from the table and began to walk off.
"Hosea." You called out to the man and he stopped before he got any further. "Thank you." You gave him a smile, which he returned before walking off. It seemed like you were getting out of there in the end.
