practice the next day was brutal for the players. they had lost, and they had to win the upcoming game.
jack still wasn't back, but he was improving greatly with his therapy. he was close to being able to pick up a stick and practice again.
"we're going out for lunch." jack said as esmeray picked up her things.
"why? it's not a special day is it?" esmeray asked, widening her eyes.
"no, just to talk..?" jack asked himself. "yeah, to talk."
esmeray raised an eyebrow as she threw her bag onto her shoulder.
"alright. where are we going?" esmeray asked. jack smiled and followed esmeray out of the prudential center.
"there's this cool place by the water. want to go there?" jack asked.
"sure."
jack held the door open for esmeray, and soon they were in the car towards the restaurant.
"i've heard some good reviews about this place." jack said when they got to the place.
"i haven't heard anything. did it just open?" esmeray asked.
"i think so."
jack held the door open for esmeray to go inside. esmeray put in her name and said they wanted to be outside.
the two followed the hostess out to the water and sat down at their table. it was calming, and esmeray enjoyed it.
the water was still, and the view was amazing. plus jack was there so it made everything feel better.
esmeray ordered what she wanted, as well as jack, and the two looked at each other.
"what?" esmeray chuckled. jack shook his head and smiled.
"you know you're beautiful. like very beautiful." he said.
"i know. you tell me every day." esmeray smiled.
"and i mean it every single day." jack continued.
"you're weird." esmeray chuckled. jack smiled and took a sip of his drink.
the waitress came to the table with their food and they started to eat.
"i got to tell you something." jack said out of the blue.
"you always have something to tell me." esmeray rolled her eyes.
"for real this time."
"for real?" esmeray raised an eyebrow and they both smiled.
"yes." jack said.
"go ahead."
"i obviously like you, a lot and you know that, but i want to go a little farther." jack said.
"like...dating?" esmeray asked. jack nodded his head and esmeray started to think.
"and i've messed things up already. im sorry, i shouldn't have said anything." jack rambled.
"no no, jack, you haven't messed things up. i just, i don't know. we basically work together, wouldn't it be so weird?" esmeray asked. jack sighed and shook his head.
"we have been spending every single day together esmeray. i've liked you since we first met at that party, but you obviously don't like me back." jack said.
"who said i didn't like you?" esmeray asked, smiling at her words.
"i like you jack, i really do, but what if something happens and we end up not being right for each other? what happens then?" esmeray asked.
"that's a risk im willing to take. if i get to be with you, i will take that risk." jack told her.
esmeray smiled, tears filling her eyes.
"please don't cry." jack whined making esmeray laugh.
"then ill take that risk too." esmeray said.
"so you'll be my girlfriend?" jack asked, a smile on his face.
"i gotta think about that." esmeray joked. jack frowned which made esmeray feel bad.
