today was the day that rhys would be driving esmeray back to north jersey. after spending the night at different college parties around the area, the two were tired when they woke up.
rhys didn't drink, mostly tired from being jet lagged, but esmeray was most definitely hungover.
"can you walk?" rhys asked. all esmerays bags were in the car, but she was still in bed.
"sh, be quiet." esmeray mumbled.
"i'll take that as a no." rhys whispered to himself. he picked esmeray out of bed and carried her out to the rental car.
"mm, where's jack?" esmeray asked, putting on her sunglasses.
"are you still drunk?" rhys questioned as he pulled out of the driveway. "did you get drugged?"
"no, i'm not drunk anymore, an no i didn't get drugged. i was just messing with you." esmeray chuckled.
"remind me not to laugh." she groaned. she rubbed her forehead and took some ibuprofen for her headache.
"i think im gonna throw up." esmeray told rhys. he pulled off to the side of the road and esmeray hung her head out the window.
"okay im good. for now." esmeray sighed, putting her head back into the car.
"i think you need food." rhys said.
"yes. greasy food, like mcdonald's." esmeray told him. rhys listened to her and pulled into a mcdonald's drive thru.
esmeray told rhys what she wanted and he ordered it, paying for all the food.
"thank you. i love you. you are the best." esmeray said, biting into the hash brown.
"you're welcome. now, let's start this road trip." rhys said.

"we're here." rhys whispered, waking esmeray up from her nap. she slowly opened her eyes, letting them adjust to the bright sun.
"hungover gone?" rhys asked as he helped esmeray out of the car.
"yeah, still a little headache, but everything else is good." esmeray told him.
"want to come up? you can meet jack. i see the car in the parking lot." esmeray asked.
"isn't jack mad at me?" rhys questioned.
"not anymore. i explained to him that you weren't some random guy. i also told him that we used to date but now you're gay." esmeray explained. rhys nodded his head and took one of her bags.
"care to show me the way?"
esmeray took her other bag and lead rhys up to her apartment. she unlocked the front door and let rhys go in first.
no one was in the kitchen, or in the living room, so she assumed that they were either in their bedrooms.
esmeray heard feet walking on the floor, and she looked down the hallway, seeing jack coming towards her.
jack ran to her and hugged her, picking her up and smiling.
"i have missed you so much even though you were gone for like three days." jack mumbled.
"awe, so cute." rhys gushed. esmeray looked over at her friend and laughed. jack out esmeray back on the ground and looked at rhys.
"jack, this is my best friend rhys, rhys this is my boyfriend jack." esmeray introduced.
"nice to meet you jack." rhys said.
"nice to meet you too. i uh, don't know what esmeray told you about the fight, but i just wanted to say i'm sorry." jack apologized.
"you're good. you just want to protect her, i get it. i'd do the same." rhys laughed. esmeray smiled and looked up at jack who was also smiling.
"alright, i gotta head out. text me more and keep me updated on everything. i love you." rhys kissed the side of esmeray's cheek and smiled.
"love you too. drive safe." esmeray let rhys out and looked back at jack.
"im sorry about fighting with you. i shouldn't have blown up on you." jack frowned.
"it's okay. just know that i love you and we're going to have these stupid little fights, but we'll get over them." esmeray told him.
jack smiled and pulled esmeray in close, kissing her on her lips.
"you have to come to the game tonight. i think you're my lucky charm." jack told her.
