A terrible sight to see
People that are cast away from the rest
Set aside to hide in the dark
Left alone to fend for themselves through times were they need someone the most
To tend to their own scars
And help those that have wounds that seem to grow with each passing day
The pain is painted across their face
And hidden with smiles that are masking their cracking and broken porcelain face
Laughter that fills the air and hides all the signs of despair
They are outcasted from the rest
Because they want to express the way they feel
Make the pain know to all that feel the same
With each passing hour is time that these souls do not have
Time is constantly slipping through their hands
They never know when they will meet a friendly face
Not the ones that come and go
Nor the ones that shatter them until they have nothing left
Leaving without a word being said
Watching them break under the pressure of the magnifying class they have put them under
Shunning them for not acting like the rest
These are the people that wear their hearts on their sleeves
But won't let you in without a fight
They've become so cautious with who will come into their life
Through all the pain
Suffering, and agony
Family that has turned their back to stab them worse than any stranger could
Trust is the one thing that will not be spared
The compassion they carry
The patience
The love
The wisdom they have honed to make their own
These are the skills they use to get by in day to day life
The broken people are the ones that will stay for life
Although they are scarred
Traumatized
Vandalized with profanities that past them whisper
The world is full of broken people just trying to keep their heads up high
By working hard and putting up a fight
Being strong for those that lack strength
By having love for those that have been told they were not worth it
So put your hands up for those that are broken and cast away
They weren't meant to fit in
But to stand out and better themselves through terrible times
