Prisons are meant to be physical cells aren't they

Shackles and chains that sway

Bars that are stained and rotting away

Marching in a straight line

Ready to decay in a box with no room at all

Small enough to cramp the body and crush the soul

To remind people they are not going to be treated fair

To be yelled at hit and put away

Everyone looking at others in shame

This is what a real prison is

But the one that haunts many is

One that cannot be seen by the naked eye

It cannot be visited at anytime

None can enter this prison

Just the one it one's own mind

It does not look the same

But it seems like rot and pain

Despair at every corner that lingers near

No one to lend a hand

No words of encouragement enter here

This is the prison of the mind

One that changes people drastically

Making them feel the will always be deceived

Never to be loved

And never to be free

The pain that is rooted deep within the heart

Wraps around the heart so effortlessly

It is hard to know who is really who they say they are

And even more difficult to overcome this tragedy

The prison of the mind is a place no one should escape too

This is not an escape room

There is no way out

But hope does lay near

It is all up to one's self to take the chance or to disappear
