Elemental School

Chapter 12 - Shield.

I put my arm in front of Haruko, as she was sitting next to me. "This is H-" She put her hand on my arm, as she lowers my arm. "I can do my own introduction." She scoffs, smirking. She looks forward, Jiao was sitting on an armchair in front of us. We were in my apartment, as it passed an hour since we bumped into her. "My name is Haruko Varenone." She stares at her blankly, but she smiles and nods. "Miss Varenone" She said. I can see Haruko smile, as she mumbles. "I may get use to that."

I glare at her. "She don't understand alot of English, so she's difficult to talk to." I can see her nod slowly.

I look at Jiao. I kept thinking I should speak English to her, but I have to keep reminding myself that she can only speak Chinese. I also heard she's taking English lessons from her friend. "What's your friend name? Perhaps we can meet him at school, tomorrow."I said, in Chinese. I take a quick glance at the time, as it was 9:21, PM. I watch her take a sip from her cup of tea, as Haruko made and served. 

"Gen. Gen Liu."

"I'm curious, what type of element does he use?" Gen attends the high school of elements, right? He should have an element.

"Earth." I see, the elements of the nature and wildlife. It's not, the strongest element, I would say, but it's beautiful and has well tactics. 

I watch as Haruko stood up from her seat and took the cups. Then she walked away and towards the kitchen. Guess she's cleaning up. I turn back at Jiao. "Now, I want to ask this. How do you have the element of light?"

"Long story. I rather not explain right now." She smiles. I sigh. Alright then. But it's just curious for me, as how she met the dragon of light. People say the element of light is the total weakness to darkness, which is racist. Now that you mention it, Haruko uses the element of darkness. If Jiao fought Haruko, Haruko would have a disadvantage. In fact, no one knows her element expect me. I sigh again. I kept my promise for her. 

"Why are you sighing alot?" I hear her ask. I jump a bit as I forgot I was talking to her. 

"Nothi- nothing! I guess we should sleep now." I stood up, as I look around. "I will set up some blankets for you. You can sleep on the couch." 

"She could sleep in my room." I hear someone say. I look behind me, as it was Haruko. Wait, what? "Why?" 

"She's only sleeping here for a day. She just didn't have enough time to do some renting." Then why can't you start renting? I cough a bit. "How did you know I was talking about that?" 

"I didn't, I was just saying." And at first, I thought she knew Chinese or what we were speaking. I sigh.

I wore blue cargo shorts and I slip on my black t-shirt. I stare at the spot where my pendant should be, as I face in the mirror. I sigh, as I open up my closest, as I pull out blankets and pillows. I set the blanket flat on the floor, as I put the pillow on top. Then I used the second blanket and put it over the blanket flat on the floor. There. I sit on the edge of my bed, as I put my hand in front of my neck. Where my pendant should be. I remember how I lost it. From running away with my guardian, from the evil lord, Darkness.

I hear the door open, as I look who was at my door. Haruko- Whoa. She had her hair down, with a nightgown on. The colour of the nightgown was black. She had a book in her hands, a small black leather cover book. I noticed that she had glasses on. I never knew she had glasses, but when I see her like this, she looks like those adults that reads before going to bed, with those glasses and stuff. Not that I dislike it or anything, but when I see Haruko like that, she just looks cute and beautiful. I can see her flick the switch of the light, down, Turning off the lights.
