There was words shooting back and forth, a lot of footsteps pacing and rifles being fired in the distant.

I'm sitting on the ground, with my back against the wall.

Pure darkness blocks my vision, no gap or sign of light.

I was taken to a nearby camp that is distant from the front lines. I can hear screams coming inside the camp and a lot of grunts from people. I'm guessing that wounded soldiers are entering the medical tent and a lot of doctors is coming into the scene.

"An explosive round caused this? Get him to the beds!" I hear someone scream. A doctor. I hear more rapid footsteps, loud but distant. I hear a familiar pattern of footsteps getting closer and louder.

"Hey, are you okay? Why are you on the floor?" A feminine voice said. The tone was soft yet a little mature. Her slim hands grip hold of my arm as she tries to lift me up. I would push myself to my feet for her.

I didn't say anything back to answer her.

I can hear her sigh. "It must be hard for you."

I didn't reply back.

"The battle isn't going well. Our flanks are falling apart and reinforcements aren't here yet."

...

"I'm weak if I go against another immortal," she quietly said.

Her discouragement for her strength is making her weak. A lot like me. I'm blind with smooth thin cotton material wrapped around my head and eyes. The bandages were tight around my head.

"But I won't give in," she speaks with a cheerful voice. Her mood changed quickly. "I know what type of heart I lack but I still won't give in," she chuckles.

"You gave me strength. So great that I can't go back because of it. So, Soma?" I feel her slim hands on my cheeks, then she slides her hands up and grips on my bandages.

"I want to give you some strength," she would move her hands, unwrapping my bandages.

I don't understand what she said to me, but she's optimistic even when it's a life or death situation. It took a minute for her to fully unwrap the bandages around my eyes and forehead. I open my eyes. I can see her in front of me. Her brown hair is messy. Her skin look smooth and soft and her face was cute- except the fact that they were many cuts and bruises.

The surprising  thing is that I can see her.

"What the-" Her eyes was on me, staring at me. Her expression was surprised.

"Your eyes. They are.. Fine and red."

She takes out a piece of metal that was lustrous and put it in front of me.

"Look, you can see yourself."

My eyes are still in place- no. It healed. Two whole eyeballs grew back. It's the same as always. The iris is red. I look and pat my body body to see and feel bandages wrapped around my neck, arm, and my legs. I notice my black hair was messy and my bangs was in front of my eyes.

I feel so numb.

There was a metal casing on my missing leg attached to my hip like a belt. I move my leg that I barely have, only to feel the casing heavier than usual. I rip the case off to see my leg bare naked. I notice the pants' legging for my cased leg ripped. I remember. My leg was blown off and my eyes were cut open from a sword.

"Your leg too, how?" She paused like she was dumbfounded then laughs. "Of course."

I notice her smiling then she stands up, brushing the dust off her then sticks her hand out in front of me. "Come on. The front lines need you."
