Elemental School

Chapter 2 - Lunch.

I was placed in this city because of my mother and I'm simply lost because of my sense of directions. I go by the name 'Haruko' and well, I'm a special case in terms of elements.

What I know of, is that this high school is not for humans, so I'm guessing the city is set for immortals only. I went to go and check the city's rule and law allowance and apparently, it allows immortals, even half ones. So i'm legal to be here, yet I was the only one there, expect this guy in a baseball cap. My father, disappeared when I was a kid, so my family left my hometown, where I lived in a huge mansion. My parents were so scared of this evil lord, yet I don't see how he's affecting us. So my family drop me off at this hidden immortal city and lure the evil lord away from me, and allow him to be distracted from my family and not get me, yet I don't see how he knows me. I don't have a lot of money, so I'm trying to get a job. I hope I do. I was heading my way to the hotel, where I bumped into someone. When I saw him, he looked handsome. His hair was white as snow, and his front was long. It can cover his forehead, and reach and cover his eyebrows sometimes. His hair is an average size at the side and back too. Yet, he was shocked he bumped into me, as well. I kinda had a crush on him, but I should still be my ice-cold self. But when I bumped into him, I found out that he goes to the school where I'm going, which is Elemental High School. Quite a weird name if you ask me, but it was for immortals or half immortals that uses element as a weapon, and we learn how to control it. But they didn't accept the element of Darkness, because it represents the evil lord.. That's what I notice.

My element is Darkness. I didn't know about that school not allowing people with the element of darkness, because it would mean your a family member or minion to Darkness. I can't be a minion, but he could be my family member? He's not my dad, not my mom, not my sibling. I did some studying before entering the school, as I check my family tree. He's my uncle. From his personality compare to mine, it kinda makes sense. I have this ice-cold feeling in me and people say I sound like a serious Japanese person, like i'm an adult. So that's why my family wanted to abandon me. They don't want Darkness to come after me. I am really not relate to him, because i'm not evil as him. But I guess the only way to not make people think I'm evil, is to not use my powers. But... What would happen if Katsu found out? Yeah.. His name was Katsu, the boy with the white hair.. I don't know if I can even look at him properly if I can. I'm having a liking on him, he different. I'm seeing guys muttering and whispering about me, perhaps of my looks.. But he never mutter or whisper or did anything to me, like he treats me as a... Friend.

Class was over, as it was all about blending as a mortal and how to not show your powers. I slip my paper inside my bag, as I look in front of me. I see his back of the head, as his hair was nicely cut. They were cut and were in different length, as they weren't straightly cut or anything like that, just a regular grow.  I smell something fresh.. I sniff again, as I trace that smell to his hair. He used shampoo as well. He must've took nice care with his hair. Yet, I need to think how to not show my darkness element during P.E. "Katsu." I see he jump up a little, as he look over his shoulder. I can see his black eye, as it looked so calm. He stares at me, yet he blushes? "W-What?" I feel my heart beating a bit fast, when he blush. He looked like a cute kid. Felt like I met him before. "When is P.E?" He put his hand under his chin, as he looks at the window, thinking.. "We have lunch right now, so... It's 50 minutes of that.. And class begins 18 minutes after lunch.. So, uhh.." Not such as a math expert. I couldn't help it, but I giggled. He looks at me, yet he smirks. "What?" I wave my hand, still giggling.. I can't help it. He looked like a cute kid, trying to do math. "Nothing. 50 - 18 is 32. So we have 32 minutes currently." I see him put his head on the table. As it looks like he's hiding his face in shame that he can't do math. "I hide in shame, now.." I giggle again, then I stood up, taking my bag. "Let's go get lunch."

So this is where he eats.. We were on the rooftop of the school, as the sun was bright today, no clouds or anything. There was little bit of wind, but it felt great because the temperature is hot. I see him sit down, as he pull out a handmade sandwich out of his paper bag. I look at him, as his hair blows in the hair, gently. I wipe my eyes, as I felt something was in my eye. I look at him again, and yet he already finished half his sandwich. What the, how did he eat so fast? He looks at me, and I can tell he's examining me. "Did you bring a lunch?" I shook my head. "I don't have a place to live, yet. So i'm currently working. I wasn't able to prepare my lunch." His eyes widen, then he looks down. He puts his half sandwich in front of me. "Here." What? "Why?" He only shrugs, then he sighs. "You don't have food. Can't allow you to starve now, can I?" He did have a point. I felt my heart skip a beat again, as I take his sandwich. His sandwich was fresh bread with ham, cheese and pickle. "How did you make this? It's looks fresh." I know how he made this.. I'm an expert at cooking, I just want to ask him. "I suck at cooking. I don't have alot of stuff at my apartment, because I currently live alone." He shows me his thumb, as I see his thumb was wrapped in bandages? "I cut my thumb." I nod. "Oh. I hope your fine." I sit down next to him, and eat the sandwich, as I try to keep clean and polite. 10 minutes, we were just talking. But he told me he has no family when I ask him about his parents. I ask why and you know what he said to me? He lean his head on the back of the wall, as he tilt his head up, with his eyes closed. "From Darkness." Well shit. "I'm sorry for that." I put my head on my knees as my arms were hugging my legs. So he has no family. "Haruko." I tilt my head at him, as he still rest his head on the wall behind us. "What element do you use?" I can't say this to him.. "It's.. Um.." I hear a scream, a girl screaming. I jump up, as I look around us. I glare at Katsu, as he had the same reaction. I look up at the sky, as the clouds were dark. Dark as black. It's isn't a rain cloud. Katsu brush his shoulder, as he looks at the clouds, but for a quick look. "We are being raided."
