I didn't care less, yet to see how I was able to find my true self, I kinda cried.
It been a year, and we were actually almost done with school. We have to keep learning how to adapt with humans and seek peace between immortals and mortals. But that's not the real problem.
Holding my sword reversed, I slammed it against my friend's blade, Kyzou. He was on his knee and I was pushing him back down. He twist his torso, and drag his legs along him, tripping me to the ground. I collapsed and he held the blade of his weapon against my neck.
"Dick move," I sigh.
"You gotta cover your legs, you know? You may beat me in magic, but not in swordplay," he grabbed my arm and lifted me up. "Reflexes."
"What does reflexes have to do with anything?"
"Quick thinking. Do it before they get the chance to do it, or in fact, deflect it," he holstered his sword against his belt, his sheath.
"I don't think any of us can agree to that when it comes to going all out and doing acrobatic and crap." I shrug, yet pouted slightly. He agreed with me.
"Swordplay is normal for us. It's when skill is needed to beat the apposing one."
"Skill?" I holster my sword.
"The movement with your sword, the handle, stuff like that. Instead of going at someone straight on, if you want to cut someone, skim pass them."
"Obviously." He roll his eyes.
We left our gym later on. We went separate ways, yet what I did after, is part of a daily basis.
Piling up paper from school, they were all registration forms and stuff for next year. Leaving school, getting a house, stuff you need as an adult. Really can admit that I just slack all day. I pity myself.
I leave the stack of paper on my desk, as I went to my bathroom. I stood in front of the sink, yet I couldn't really understand why I did that. I just splash water on my face, leaving the tap running.
Yet, I caught a glimpse of light at the corner of the mirror, like it was a small sun.
"Haruko, was that your doing?"
She looked over, at the doorway. "What's my doing?"
"That light.."
She shook her head. "No."
That's suspicious, but I sigh and shook my head. "Alright then." I twist the tap, turning the water off.
"Did you finish your registration forms?"
I nodded. "You?" She nodded as well.
"I can't think of an American name. Speaking English is literally the best thing we all can do."
I shrug. "Well, that's true. I'm sticking to my old name I had."
"Called?"
"I don't know."
She chuckled, yet left the doorway and sat on the couch. "That doesn't make sense then."
"If I look around at some documents, I could find something."
"Yeah, but where are you gonna live after?"
"Everyone wanted to have a huge road trip near Canada, in British Columbia and Alberta, so we might end up going to Canada next year."
"We?"
"Your coming too. Right?"
She was pondering, yet she nodded, grinning. "Sure. Not like there's anything exciting here."
"But what questions me is British Columbia. Heard that there was sightings of police brutality."
"Legit?"
"Military officials. They look serious, and they were getting advanced. The soldiers there. Laser rifles and crap. I even heard they got gas masks and filters."
"Our Earth isn't poisonous, now. Is it?"
I shook my head. "No. But it sounds like the military is being corrupted there."
She looked worried.
"No, I mean like, it was serious, but not a lot of brutality. I don't think it will happen to us there. But Alberta is fine too."
"Your making this sound like this road trip will come to a death of us."
I grinned. "I did? Oops. But regardless, Alberta is trying to prevent that salutation, but for now, nothing is happening. Maybe more things will take affect in the future."
She stood up. "Yeah. I'm going to bed. Training later?"
"Sure." I feel concerned.
