“And above all… Friends don't feel that way to their friends. Friends shouldn't… It's not right… It's not right… I'm sorry…” he breaks off, his voice breaking, but he's not crying.

He's right. Baekhyun's right. We agreed to be friends, but our actions are being dictated by our past. He's about to kiss me, and I'm going to let him, great, just great. We both know there's still something between us, but we're both too scared to admit it or act on it. Because if we do, we'll just repeat the same mistake we made before, but what if I want to do it all over again and not make the same mistakes?

“Would you do the same again, Baekhyun?” I wondered as I looked at the man who was willing to fight for me seven years ago, but what did I do? I had given up on him and on us.

“Oh my!” he exclaimed, brushing his hand against his jaw before turning to face me. “I apologize for saying that all out loud again; I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable in any way— I just can't—”

“Taeyeon? Baekhyun?” yelled someone, a familiar voice.

Baekhyun and I exchanged a glance before turning our heads behind us to see the one and only Key of SHINee approaching us, but he's not alone…

“Is that Chorong?” I asked quietly to myself, but Baekhyun overheard.

“APink Chorong? Where? Oh! Yeah, yeah, that's definitely her,” he responded.

We both stood up when Key and Chorong approached us and hugged both of us. And I can't help but give Key a death glare as he smirks at me and wiggles his brows playfully, which luckily Baekhyun didn't get to see because he's busy talking to Chorong.

“So, it's really you guys… Baek…” he said with a wide grin, pointing to Baekhyun, then to me, “…Yeon. I told you, Rongrongie, it's them. BaekYeon.”

Here we go again. Back then, whenever Baekhyun and I bumped into him, he would always called us that ship name. My eyes widened as I glared at him again, but Baekhyun simply chuckled. And I have to intervene before everything gets to the awkward part.

“Hey, Key and Chorong, what are you doing here?” I asked, shifting my gaze back and forth between them.

“I could ask you the same thing,” Key retorted, crossing his arms and raising his brows. “What are you doing here?”

“Are you two on a date? I mean, I really ship you two together and everything, and I'm just kind of excited to see you two together again,” Chrorong added, cautiously smiling at us.

Oh, that's wonderful. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen. Before I could respond that we aren't dating and are only here because of Ravi, Baekhyun spoke up.

“Are you and Key on a date?” he asked bluntly, which caused Key's smile to fade as he looked at Chorong.

“What? No! We're here with Onew, who is still in the parking lot, I believe, talking to someone on his phone, and Eunji and Woohyun as well, but they presented to go buy us foods— available foods in the middle of the night while Key and I decided to find some spot for our midnight friendly date,” she explained, laughing softly as Key nodded in agreement.

I cast a glance at Baekhyun, who was watching Key intently before shifting his gaze to me and tilting his head, as if he was asking for something I didn't know or was perplexed by how Key acted around Chorong. Who would have guessed? Some people are truly surprising, aren't they?

“Well, why don't you guys just join us here?” I suggested, grinning as I noticed Baekhyun turn to them and nod his head, but the two seemed hesitant.
