Chapter I

SM Practice Room, March 26, 2014.
12:00 AM.

Seven years ago…

“Happy birthday, Xiumin hyung!” exclaimed EXO members as Xiumin walked into their practice room.

“Thank you, guys!” Xiumin exclaimed almost tearfully as his family approached him.

Baekhyun, who's holding the cake they had made for their elder brother, “Make a wish, hyung,” exclaimed cheerfully.

Xiumin closed his eyes, wishing that EXO would remain strong forever with EXO Ls by their side; that they would face all the challenges that lay ahead; that they would make good music for their fans and perform in front of them with all of their members forever.

“Whoohooo!” everyone applauded as he blew out the candle, hoping that his wish would come true.”

“Happy birthday, hyung!”

“Happy birthday, Xiumin!”

“Cut the cake so—” the abrupt knock on the door interrupted Baekhyun, and made him stopped cheering.

'It must be our sunbaes,' he thought before he dashed towards the door while the other members were busy, and he froze when he opened it.

In front of him is the girl he has been crushing on since joining the company three years ago. He never expresses his real feelings to her, but the other members of EXO are aware of it. And, as much as he wants to tell her how much he likes her, he is afraid of being rejected and doesn't want to ruin what they have now.

“Oh, hi noo-noona!” he stuttered, his gaze fixed on one and only Kim Taeyeon of Girls' Generation.

Little did he know that she has a crush on him too, but she never tells anyone about it because she is afraid it will jeopardize their career. Aside from that, she's worried about what people will think about their age difference, but she hopes that one day she'll be able to tell him how she truly feels.

Taeyeon locked his gaze on him for a moment before genuinely smiling at him. “Hey, is Xiumun in there?”

Baekhyun couldn't stop himself from staring at her. He appears to have seen an angel descend for him to admire everything about her; her voice, her face, her smile, everything.

“Taeyeon noona!” exclaimed Suho, her excitement palpable.

That brought Baekhyun back to his senses, and he gave her a sweet smile. “He's here. Ah, please, come in.”

She smiled as she walked past him, and he caught a whiff of her sweet scent. He's been in love with her scent ever since he first smelled it.

“Happy birthday, Xiumin!” she exclaimed, handing him her gift before pulling him in for a hug.

'I'd like to have your hug as well, noona. I wish I could do that,' he thought to himself as he sighed and was about to shut the door when the other members of Girls' Generation entered, holding plastic bags.

“So, we ordered food from your favorite restaurant,” Yoona announced.

EXO clapped enthusiastically. He, on the other hand, silently walked towards Suho after closing the door, while the other members removed the food container from the plastic bags. Baekhyun was known as the group's hyperactive member, but when Taeyeon is around, he becomes shy.

“Are you all right?” Suho asked, patting him on the back.

He only nodded, his gaze drawn to Taeyeon, who was laughing with the girls about something. They all sat on the floor, and Suho forced him to sit beside Taeyeon.
