Telling someone how you truly feel about them was the most difficult thing to do; there are a lot of what ifs, but once you put your overthinking aside and listen to what you truly want to do, it will be worthwhile to try.

Today is my first date with Baekhyun; it's just a simple date night walk because we can't be seen together for the time being, so no fancy restaurants or anything. And that's fine as long as I'm with him; after all, that's what matters, right? Spending time with the one you care about.

“Someone's still checking their phones,” Tiffany said as she walked up beside me. “Who's the lucky man, Taeyeon?”

I must keep looking at my phone for Baekhyun's message, is this how it feels? You just keep getting excited every time his name pops up in your phone; this is new to me, and I like that he's the one who's making me feel this way.

“What are you talking about?” I asked innocently as I subtly shoved my phone inside my bag; we're not supposed to use our phones when we're in the middle of something so important to our careers.

She chuckled and sat beside me while we waited for the show to begin, and I pretended to read the script that the staff had given us. “Don't play innocent on me, babe; I know you, you've never been so excited while using your phone, so who is it?”

I've known Tiffany long enough to know she won't betray me with this secret; I don't want my relationship with Baekhyun to be kept a secret forever, but it's for the best for both of us because we're idols and work for the same company; we prefer not to ruin our careers, so we have to be more cautious with every move we make.

“You know you can trust me, right? I'm here if you want to talk about it,” she reassuringly said, squeezing my hand and smiling.

I whispered, “Baekhyun,” loud enough for her to hear. Yoona was the only one who knew about it, and as much as I wanted to keep it a secret from the rest of the members, they are my members, and we trust each other.

And I expected Tiffany to lecture me or say something that would persuade me to change my mind, but she didn't; instead, she just stared at me as if processing what I had just said before grinning widely and putting her hand on her mouth.

“I knew it,” she mumbled, her giggles suppressed. “I knew it!”

“What are you talking about?”

“I knew it, Taeng!”

“You knew what, Fany?”

Her eyes narrowed as she turned to face me, ready to explain herself. “Well, no one told me that you two were dating yet, but I had the impression that he liked you back then.”

“How come?”

She sighed and rolled her eyes. “Duh, every time he sees you, his face lights up, and when we're in the same room, and you're not looking, he's staring at you like his world revolves around you; you know, his eyes can tell what he's not saying vocally, and you do the same, hon.”

“I'm not!”

“Yes, you do, Taeng,” she teased, nodding slowly to herself. “I've had my suspicions for a long time; all I needed was confirmation, and now that I have it, I'm so happy for both of you; you deserve it, babe.”

“Thank you, Tiffany,” I mumbled as she drew me in for a tight hug.

Hearing something like that while still fighting with yourself is actually calming. I expected her to stop me from dating Baekhyun, but she didn't. This is something I deserve, and we all deserve to live normal lives.

“If Baekhyun hurts you,” she began as we drew away from each other, her expression, and voice serious as she looked at me. “He better think about what he's going to do because we will—”
