Chapter 13

Ula'ula's grand trial!

Continuation to chapter 12

Y/N's POV:

I had a trip to ula'ula to do the island challenge there. I looked down at a meowth infront of the police station and it then tried to scratch me but I dodged it walking in with zoroark. I then saw island kahuna nanu surrounded by multiple meowth and even a Persian. I sighed knowing how aggressive and manipulative alolan meowth's can be. I walked around them quietly trying not to aggravate them. I finally made it too nanu and said "hey island kahuna nanu! I'm here for a grand trial, I've already faced two island kahuna's!" Nanu woke up and groaned and said "island kahuna nanu? I'm not nanu." Aserola popped in and said "stop trying to hide! This is your job!". Zoroark growled happily as nanu got up and said "fine. Your challenge is to go see tapu-Bulu then you battle me.". I knew he was trying to buy time but I took the challenge anyways "welp! Time to find the island guardian!" I said exiting with aserola as I returned zoroark and got out garchomp flying on top of him as aserola hopped on a mudsdale. We both set off to the famous mountain where tapu bulu rested atop of it.

I looked straight ahead squinting as the mountain appeared Infront of me. Mimikyu was also out of its poke ball and it screeched. I saw aserola at the top already and I looked confused as to why she was there already. I landed and saw aserola walking around. My eyes landed on the sleeping island guardian as mimikyu approached it. Mimikyu touched it as it opened one eye revealing sapphire blue eyes with yellow reflecting off of it. Mimikyu rested beside tapu bulu as I approached it saying "there. I saw tapu bulu and now I can battle nanu!" Aserola laughed and said "you might want to train first! Nanu's trial is where you choose one Pokémon to face three of his!" I frowned and said "I'm going to train garchomp. He is one of my strongest and nanu doesnt have a fairy type to Pierce it's scales." Tapu bulu then grew a seed making a tree which garchomp immediately learned a new move called sand tomb on a nearby fearow. "When did you learn sand tomb?" I questioned and aserola smiled saying "mimikins did this too! Tapu bulu's energy and strength sometimes channels to Pokémon around giving them strength!"

I waved to tapu bulu and took off on garchomp as I called that an interaction and training session. When I got back to nanu and told him about it he groaned and said "to the battle field I guess..." nanu then brought out his alolan Persian and said "choose your Pokémon..." I got out a poke ball and said "garchomp! Aid me!". Nanu groaned as aserola called it to start and he said "Persian! Use fake out!" I called to garchomp saying "dodge it!" And garchomp did just that and I said "garchomp! Use sand tomb!" It caused Persian to lose health for 4 moves straight "Persian. Use power gem!" Before I said anything Persian did it as it sneered at garchomp. "Garchomp! Use dragon rush! Then a series of bite!" I said and Persian flinched when I used the first move which allowed garchomp to take Persian out using bite. "Persian is unable to battle!" Aserola said as nanu returned it and garchomp made a booming roar in victory. "Krookodile! Come out!" Nanu called and then said "krookodile! Use scary face!" I started sweating and called to garchomp saying "garchomp! Use crunch!"

Krookodile got knocked back and nanu called "Krookodile! Use leer!" Garchomp's defence was lowered one stage meaning we got lucky. Garchomp side eyed Krookodile and I called "garchomp! Use bulldoze!" Krookodile tried to dodge but was then hit by garchomp and its speed lowered down 3 stages. Nanu laughed and said "Krookodile! Use outrage!" Me and garchomp now had to stay alert noticing Krookodiles sudden strength. "Garchomp! Use dragon breath!" I yelled while krookodile dodged it "Krookodile is in a state of rage. How will you pass now? Hitting it will be hard. Krookodile! Use bite!" Garchomp quickly dodged it but lost a little health. Nanu was trying to trick us but I wouldn't feed into it. "Garchomp! Finish this with dual chops!" I called noticing Krookodile was now confused. Aserola called it off and nanu took out his last Pokémon. "Sableye! Come out!" Nanu called and I looked over at garchomp and nanu said "sableye! Use night shade!" Garchomp got knocked backwards when I called "garchomp! Use a series of dual chop!" A miracle must've happened because when the move was used sableye was already out. "Island challenger
Y/N wins the grand trial!" Nanu returned sableye then caressed the back of his head while giving me a dragon type z crystal. I laughed and nanu walked off.
