"Why are you afraid?" she asked, with a curious expression on her face.

"The people. What will they say about me when I get closer to a Madrigal? Will they say that I just used them for fame? I know I nev-"

"(Y/N), don't mind them. You know your place and your limits. You know what's right and wrong. You just want to be friends with one of them, or maybe more than that, hm?" she said with a reassuring smile.

"Uh more than that? You mean, best friends?" I asked, and then she laughed again.

"No, I- never mind," she said as she laughed.

"Back to the topic, yeah, I'll be expected to mind my own business. I know what's good and my place," I said, and kept repeating it to myself in whispers.

"Alright, (Y/N). That's right. You want a hug, though? You've been thinking so much lately." I nodded, and then she hugged me. So, I hugged her back. I felt relaxed and comforted when my best friend was there. I thank her for my whole life.

~ The Night ~

It is now time for us to go there. Cristina was at our front door just as we were about to leave. So, we both go to the engagement party.

"Hi! Where are your parents?" I asked.

"Oh, they're busy. They said that they would be there on the wedding day," she said.

"Ohh, I understand. They are part of the team working on the engagement party, aren't they?" I said as we walked.

"Yep, and that's why. They prepared so many pastries and other things. They also helped Señora Julieta with that." I nodded, and we continued to walk.

A few minutes later...

We've arrived, and we've entered La Casa Madrigal. Many people enjoyed the party, eating, and dancing. With the Casita, vibing with music while people dance. They were also happy about it, of course. My mamá and my best friend went to find some chairs so we could have a seat, and we found them.

It seems the party has still not started, so they are here to enjoy it first.

"(Y/N), want to dance?" Cristina said.

"No, I don't want to, and I can't dance," I said.

"Liar, I've always seen you dancing before," she said as she laughed.

"But it's different, okay?"

"Let's go. We'll both go there and dance. I will accompany you! " she said as she shook my wrist.

"Dance with your best friend, mi vida. It must be fun. Don't be shy," my mamá suggested. If you just know, , how I looked at myself dancing is embarrassing.

"Ugh, fine," I accepted, and we both went to where there were people dancing.

"Hey, I don't know how to dance like this, and I hated myself for not knowing- Cristina?" I stopped when I saw Cristina was not by my side.

"That-- Cristina!!!" I shouted. No one heard me because the music was kind of loud and they were enjoying it.

"I thought she would accompany me, but now I don't even know where I am," I said to myself. We just sometimes go here, so I might have no idea where I'm supposed to go. And the place was blocked by people dancing. Another reason is that I couldn't see where my mamá and Cristina sat.

A few minutes later, I roam around, and still can't see them. Are they hiding or am I really lost? This place was kind of easy to memorize. I just sit on some empty seats here and relax a bit.

"Where did she go...?" I mumbled as I stared at the floor. While staring, I saw someone's feet in front of me, and then I heard a female's voice.

"Are you lost?" It seemed familiar, so I looked up, and it was one of Camilo's cousins, Mirabel.

"I- uh yeah, kind of," I said as I stood up. How did she know, though, that I was lost?

"Ahh, I see. Maybe let's go together and find out where you've been," she said with a warm smile.

"I would like to. Please," I replied, and then she nodded.

"Come on," she said as she placed her hand on my shoulder, and then we proceeded to walk.

"So, there was another place in the Casita where there were people waiting for the party. Maybe you or someone you were with was there as well," she instructed as we walked together. I noticed her voice too. It was kind of a little change. But it's okay, at least I will go back to where I was.

"Okay okay, thank you!" I said.

A few minutes later, we had arrived. And at the right time, I saw Cristina there with my mamá laughing.

"There! Thank you once again. I've got to go," I said as I faced her.

"No problem!" she replied as she smirked. What? After that, I go to where Cristina and mamá are. She goes to where she will go too.

"Hey, I'm here," I greeted.

"Hii, do you get along with a Madrigal huh?" she said as she grinned.

"Not really. She's helping me because I was lost. You left me on the side of dancing people!" I exclaimed, and then she started to laugh again.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N). I was just joking. You're now an adult, though, so you can go by yourself," she said, and I just groaned. After that, I sat and watched some people dancing, vibing with the music, waiting, and so on.

Carlos' POV:
"There! Thank you once again. I've got to go," (Y/N) said as she faced me.

"No problem!" I said as I smirked. She had now gone to where her best friend was, and probably that was her mom. I mean, my future mother-in-law. Nah, is she going to be my mother-in-law? Let's see.

I just went back again to my place, and when I was out of her sight. I shape-shifted into my original form, which was myself. Why should I pretend to be someone just to be close to her? Maybe that's also my purpose for my gift.

When I saw her there earlier, sitting on some seats, I decided to approach her because she looked really confused and lost. It's now my time, but I'll use Mirabel's form. Mirabel was also busy preparing for her primo, Camilo. How special.

While thinking about it, Abuela has started to announce the start of the engagement party. It's time for my twin brother and future sister-in-law to shine once more. They are literally perfect because they are both stupid, and so (Y/N) is mine. I think (Y/N) was such an angel and a wise woman.

I know that (Y/N) liked Camilo. Luckily, he has a girlfriend, and now they are engaged. I'm having this chance and hope, huh.
