1 year later...

(Y/N)'s POV:
It's been one year now. I am finalizing my decision about Carlos courting me.

I fully trust him now and am ready to be with him. It would be good news.

"Dolores." I sighed. "I'm hoping you can hear me right now. Please inform Carlos that I want to meet him at the river at 5 p.m. Thank you in advance," I added.

A few hours later...

4:29 P.M.

I arrived early at the meeting place for Carlos and me. I simply set up a picnic blanket on which we could sit and gaze at the night sky, and I brought some foods and drinks in a basket for us to eat.

While I sat waiting, I observed the river flowing, butterflies gracefully flying, the wind blowing coldly, and the sky gradually dimming. I'm having fun observing my surroundings.

As I was still here, I heard someone's voice.

"Hola, mi amiga." I got chills. That voice seemed familiar, and I just turned around. I saw Camilo standing there.

"Cami?" I said as I slightly widened my eyes.

Camilo's POV:
"Amor, I'll just go see an old friend for a few minutes today. Take care, hm?" I said as I hugged her.

"Okay then. Be careful." She smiled as she hugged me back, and after a few seconds, I broke the hug, then I kissed her on her forehead.

"Don't stress yourself too much, and even you." I chuckled as I kneeled down and kissed her stomach.

"Sure, sure. See you later." She chuckled.

"Likewise," I said as I stood up and proceeded to leave.

Dolores told me that (Y/N) is at the river, and Carlos is still not there. I'll get this chance to talk to her.

"Yes. I guess it's the first time that I've heard you call me by my nickname." He chuckled as he walked closer.

"Maybe." I smiled. "What are you doing here, by the way?" I added.

"I came here to talk with you about some things." He smiled.

"Ah, sure. You can sit here beside me," I said, and he sat beside me.

"It's been a long time now since I last saw you. Where have you been?"

"Oh. I'm just at my house?" I said, as if it were a question.

"Didn't you leave here in town?" he asked.

"Yes, I didn't."

"It's good to know. What happened? You haven't shown up to me since that day. I thought you'd be upset if I showed up today." He laughed.

"Is that so?" I chuckled.

"I guess I remember that when I haven't shown up to you, when you're courting someone. Well, I did that because I don't want you to have some conflicts. I know I might not be included in that, just in case. I want you to enjoy your life with her without thinking or having a problem with anyone like me, though," I added. Sigh... But I've made him think that I left this town.
