5 years later...

(Y/N)'s POV:
I'm so happy today, and I've been in a great mood all day. Carlos and I are finally engaged! The man I adore and will spend the rest of my life with.

He said that the engagement party would be held tonight in La Casa Madrigal, and he didn't want to invite the whole town because he's not used to being the center of attention, and I just agreed with him if that's comfortable for him.

And we will only invite our relatives to the engagement party. The people here in town just congratulated us. Although they were not invited, they're also happy for us.

Well, about Cristina, she can't come to our engagement party since they have a lot of work to do in the city where she's been working, but she promised to me that she would come to our wedding day. Her family, though, agreed to attend the engagement party too!

When the night came, my relatives arrived at the Casita to celebrate the special day for us!

"Hola, tía. Congratulations! You're now engaged!" Zandra exclaimed, as she gave me a gift. Sigh... Zandra is that energetic kid with whom I used to play, and she still has that attitude. I'm happy to see her grow and the rest of my second nephews and nieces.

"Thank you, Zandra. I appreciate it." I smiled.

"You're welcome! I'll give this another gift to tío." She chuckled as she walked away. Carlos was talking with the men of my family and his family as well.

"Mija is already engaged. Time flies so fast," mamá said as she hugged me.

"You're right, ." I smiled as I hugged her back.

After that, we happily continued the celebration together.

A few hours later...

I'm in Mirabel's room. We're talking about such things, and it's fun to talk with her as always.

"What do you think? Will you sleep with us here tonight?" She chuckled. "I thought about that because it's already late and some of your family members are now at home," she added.

"I want to say good bye first to Carlos and the others, but he's still downstairs having a drink with some of the men in our family. I don't want to disturb, so yeah." I awkwardly smiled.

"Okay then, if you ever feel sleepy and he is still having a drink with them. You can sleep here with me." She smiled.

"Thank you, Mira!" I smiled.

A few minutes later, (Y/N) didn't manage to stay awake and she fell asleep on the chair. She was leaning back as her arms were crossed.

After Carlos drank with them, he thought about (Y/N) and how he hadn't seen her leave the Casita yet. Luckily, he knows where she was staying while she was waiting for him.

He decided to go to Mirabel's room. When he was about to knock, he hadn't heard any voices or noises coming from her room. He thought that they had fallen asleep there.

He tried to twist the door knob, which was not locked. So he slowly opened it, and all he saw was them sleeping. Carlos' brows have furrowed since he noticed his fiancée sleeping in the chair. He became concerned and began to approach her.

He didn't want to wake her up, so he decided to carry her and bring her to the comfortable bed.

"Querida, your neck and back might hurt because of your position." He sighed as he gently carried her in the bridal style. He may be slightly drunk and on the verge of falling out, but he gives his all for her to carry and sleep well.

Mirabel woke up from the voice she heard. "What will you do with her?" She yawned.

"I'm going to let her sleep in my room. She's sleeping here on the chair. She might have hurt her back or neck if she kept sleeping in her position earlier," Carlos said as he faced Mirabel while he was carrying (Y/N).

"Ahh, I didn't expect she would fall asleep there. She's been waiting for you." She lowly chuckled. "Okay, just don't do anything with her, huh?" she added.

"I know." He rolled his eyes as if he was done hearing those words, and decided now to leave Mirabel's room.

When they finally came to Carlos' room, he went straight to his bed and laid (Y/N) down there gently. After that, he covers her with a blanket so she can't catch a cold if ever.

After that, Carlos decided to take a quick shower and to sleep as well.

When he finished his shower, he considered whether he would sleep by her side or in the separate bed. Well, he might sleep on the couch.

He didn't receive his permission from her and also wanted her to sleep well without being uncomfortable. He knows she sometimes allows him to be by her side, but this time, it might not be without any word from her, although he's allowing her most of the time. So, he just decided to sleep on the couch that was suitable for him to sleep on.

Before he went to sleep, he walked closer to her and leaned in. "Good night, querida. Te amo." he mumbled as he kissed her forehead sweetly and he finally turned off the lights and went to sleep.

The next morning, (Y/N) woke up from the kind of bed that was unfamiliar and realized that it was Carlos' bed.

"Huh. When did I come here?" she asked herself as she rubbed her eyes softly. Then, she thought about last night that she would say good bye to Carlos before she leaves, but ended up falling asleep.

"Ay! I should've kept myself awake last night." She facepalmed. While she was still in bed, Carlos came into the room and noticed (Y/N) was already awake.

"Good morning, querida." Carlos sweetly smiled as he came closer to her. "How's the sleep?" he added.

"Good morning too, (nickname). It's kind of good." She smiled, and Carlos nodded.

"Mirabel said that you were waiting for me last night. I saw you were already sleeping on the chair, so I brought you here," Carlos said.

"Ah, that's why I'm here. You should have woken me up," she exclaimed.

"I can't. You're already tired of waiting for me, but I thank you for your patience." He chuckled.

"Unbelievable." (Y/N) added as she chuckled.

"Let's go downstairs now to have breakfast, okay? Or should I let you prepare yourself first before going there?" Carlos asked.

"I'll go downstairs later." She smiled, and he agreed.
