As we ate, mamá started to speak.

"So, Carlos, how's life?" she asked.

"Señora, it was pretty good somehow. There are also problems that I've experienced, and sometimes I struggle too," he answered as he ate.

"Hmm, after all, you're right. While we're growing, we experience more challenges in life, but we may also find our happiness at some point in time," she said as she smiled.

"Yep, I've found my happiness already throughout my circumstances," he said as he looked at me. Why is he looking at me? Is there food left on my face?

As he continued to stare, I simply ignored him and continued to eat.

"Who or what happiness is this?" mamá asked as she drank orange juice.

"She is a person. She gives me motivation to live and work hard," he answered as he finally looked at my mother.

"Good to know, Carlos. I'm glad you lived throughout your life," she said as she chuckled.

"Thank you, Señora," he replied as he smiled.

"And (Y/N), hija?" she asked as she looked at me.

"Yes, ?" I asked.

"Say something," she said. What should I say?

"Uh, I'm busy eating my food," I said as I ate.

"Oh my, (Y/N), until now," she said as she laughed.

"You love food, don't you?" Carlos asked as he chuckled and looked at me.

"Of course, who wouldn't deny it?" I said as I drank my orange juice.

"Ay, you know, Carlos. When (Y/N) was a child, she ate a lot. She ate all in one pot," she said as she smiled.

", really in front of us?" I said annoyingly, and I could see Carlos trying to stop his laugh.

"It's true! Because of that, you looked chubby before, and now you're a young lady who has a good and right body." Do I?

And now I'm feeling embarrassed.

"Mamá, you know, Carlos is here, right? Why are-" I said as I was cut off by her.

"He is your friend, hija. I think it will not be a problem if somehow he knows something about you."

"Well, uh, about what your mom said earlier. Your mother is right, actually. You have also good attitude somehow," he said as he chuckled. Gosh, they're saying I've got a good body and a good attitude.

"Look, even your friend would agree," she replied as she laughed.

"Stop describing my body. I feel embarrassed," I said as I covered my face with my hand.

"Fine, hija. Haha, if you ever feel uncomfortable, I will stop."

", I'm feeling uneasy since you've revealed something I wanted to keep hidden."

"Oop," Carlos said as he stopped drinking.

"Oh no, I'm really sorry. I'm just proud to have a daughter like you in my life," she said, with a worried look.

"I'm glad you've born an angel like her mother, Señora." Oh, is this Carlos? Carlos, what really are you, or you're just saying it for something? I don't know, but why do I feel happy about it? It's just an angel or maybe a compliment because he is your friend?

"Aww, such sweet words from you, Carlos. She's truly an angel without wings," mamá said. Anyway, I'll just finish my food and let them talk if they want, but it's not always about me.
