TW: mention of murder and blood

Carlos' POV:
"I'm a criminologist, but I suddenly came back here at the bakery again." Cristina chuckled. "Well, for my family, anyway."

"I see. I might need your help," I said. One year ago, she went out of town to work as a criminologist in the city. (Y/N) and I accompanied her to the exit of this town.

"How can I help you?" she asked.

"Did you know about the news that a crime had happened here?"

"Ah, yes. That's also why they let me come here." She chuckled. "I'll get something. Wait for a moment," she added as she went upstairs.

A few minutes later, she came back with some papers.

"I got the newspaper from here that three dead bodies have been found near the pond. They were stabbed to death a few months ago. I don't really recognize their faces," she informed as she handed me the newspaper.

"We're lucky to have this newspaper, and it's also from the help of your girlfriend, who's also my best friend," she teased.

"Y-yeah." I blushed.

"Oh. Here are some victims' faces when they were still alive. Do you think you recognize their faces?" she said as she handed me the pictures of them. They seemed to be familiar. These are the people I noticed who once liked (Y/N), and then I found out that someone died a few days later.

"I think they are the ones who liked (Y/N). I saw them maybe talking with her while I was coming to see her," I replied.

"Really? Damn, her charisma was outstanding. I admit that (Y/N) is attractive and she has a warm personality." She chuckled. I actually agree with that.

"Anyway, why suddenly did they get killed? Their background was clear and there were no cases where they did something bad or upset someone," she added.

"It might be some crazy person who kills for some stupid reason," I replied.

"Ooh. Like, does this person like her and won't let anyone get close to her?" she asked.

"Yeah."

"Oh my. I'm still not sure, but besides you being her boyfriend, someone still liked her until now. I'm guessing it's Theo Cuaresma," she informed. "Do you remember when he danced with her last time?" she added.

"Yes, I still remember it," I said, and she nodded.

"His behavior these days was kind of strange. You know, he's been asking me if you're in a relationship with her. He can't stop asking," she stated.

"Sigh... I suddenly remember you as him before." She chuckled.

"Hey! It's not like I'm too obsessed with questions," I defended.

"Okay, okay! Yep, it's not like that. I might have a point that it's him. I'll keep searching. You can also call me if you notice anything strange from him that is connected to the case," she said.

"Sure thing," I agreed. He's what I've been thinking about in this case. I knew it.
