"Is there anything you'd like to tell me?" I snapped.

"what?" she looked at me concerned.

"I don't have the energy to play games with you Emily, so I will ask one more time is there anything, you want to tell me?"

"Y/n, whatever you think happened, I-"

I let out a breath that replicated that of being sucker punched.

"What? Let me guess, 'you can explain' right?" I snapped. "Let me get this straight, so while I was home, feeling like shit, you were here with her doing god knows what!"

"Y/n, you don't understand, we weren't here just because, we-we had some work to do."

I scoffed as tears began to stream.

"That is probably the second biggest lie that has come out of your mouth. Now I would say the biggest but it's looking like 'I love you too' takes the cake."

She took a couple steps towards me and I took a step back.

"Y/n, I have never lied to you and you know that! I love you!"

"well that's a big shift from how we left things yesterday!"

"Please, I promise you I can explain everything but I just need a little time to get things sorted ok?"

"I trusted you" I whispered through my shaky voice.

"Y/n you can still trust me honey" she went to grab my arm and I pulled away.

"you come find me when you're ready to tell the truth." and I walked out, bumping into JJ.

"You ok" she asked

"Fuck you" I huffed as I blowed right past.

Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I rushed into the bathroom. I was not about to give either of them the satisfaction of breaking me enough to leave. I wiped the tears from my face and took a deep breath.

EMILYS POV:

"What do you mean they're back?" I whispered into the phone. "and Interpol doesn't have any more information?"

I heard my door swing open and it was Y/n.

"I gotta go" I mumbled before hanging up. The moment I heard Y/n's voice fear coursed through my body. I needed her to be as far away from me and this whole situation as possible.

"Hey" she smiled. "everything alright?"

"why wouldn't it be" I said trying without looking up from my desk. I knew if she looked at me she would know somethings wrong.

"I don't know I just noticed that your door was clo-" she started, taking a few steps towards me, before I cut her off.

"Is there something you needed Agent?" I snapped, still unable to look at her. I hated myself already for what I knew I had to do.

"Agent?" I could hear the pain in her forced a chuckle. "Em, I'd say we're far past formal talk, don't you think?"

I took in deep breath and swallowed my tears.

"I have a job to do and you do too, so either address the reason you came in here, or stop getting distracted and get to work!"my voice was cold and harsh. I had to be.

"I-I just wanted to make sure you were ok and obviously you're not"

It's like I could feel just how deep my words cut just by listening to her voice.
