"Oh my gosh! Caesar!" I beamed, pulling him into a tight hug.

Caesar laughed, squeezing me tightly. "What's going on, best friend!

I can't believe it.

He's actually here.

Caesar's actually here.

Ever when he went back to Brooklyn years ago, he kept his promise to me. He made sure we stayed in touch and called me all the time.

Whether it was by text or FaceTime, we would constantly update each other on our lives, and hope for the day we'd see each other again.

Now he's finally back.

"I can't believe you're here! What're you doing here!?" I asked, pulling away from him.

"Well, what you think? I'm moving to Woodcrest."

I gasped. "No!"

"Yeah! Me and my aunty came down, and I'm going to Wuncler High with the rest of y'all."

"Caesar! Oh my gosh, that's amazing!" I said happily as he smiled.

This is good news.

Way better than good news. Great news.

I finally have my best friend back after all this time.

"This is great! So when did you get here-"

"Am I f*ckin' invisible now?"

Caesar and I then turned to Jacob who stood there with his arms crossed.

"Oh, sorry Jake. You remember Caesar, right?"

"I guess." He shrugged.

I gave him a look, nudging him slightly.

I know Jacob and Caesar didn't necessarily get along when we were younger, but I thought we were passed that.

"It's nice to see you again, man." Caesar smiled slightly.

"Whateva."

Jacob crossed his arms and frowned at Caesar, causing it to be silent for a few seconds.

Jeez, this is awkward.

"...So, where's everyone?" Caesar then asked, breaking the silence.

"Oh! They're upstairs." I smiled. "I think Huey will be happy to see you, I think he needs a friend. Y'know, considering..."

"Yeah with Jazzy and everything. Damn. Imma talk to him for sure."

"Why don't you go then?" Jacob said rudely as I nudged him again. "Jake."

What is wrong with him?

"My bad, did you guys have plans?" Caesar looked between us.

"Oh, well Jake was gonna take me down-" "The police station. Thursdays. I remember." He said with a smile.

I smiled back. "Yeah."

"And we was in the middle of a f*ckin' conversation." Jacob frowned.

"Jake, just-" "Do you want me to take y'all down to the station in truck? We could all go, make a trip out of it." Caesar suggested.

"That sounds like a good idea!"

"Are you f*ckin' serious?"

Both Caesar and I then turned to Jacob who looked irritated.

"Jake, you're being rude." I whispered. "I'm being f*ckin' rude?" He snapped.

"Hey." Caesar interjected. "It seems like I interrupted something. How about I'll go find the boys myself and get back with y'all later?"
