I keep my eyes fixated on my ceiling as I lay flat on my back in my bed.

I've already heard the morning birds chirp, along with the ticking sound of the clock.

I just can't get myself up.

I noticed when I looked at my calendar that today is the day.

This Sunday marks the fifth year anniversary of my dad's death.

It's been a while since I've thought about it so intensely, but this morning it really hit me.

It's been five years.

Five years.

I keep feeling my eyes tear up, but quickly wipe them away each time.

I sat up in my nightgown, pushing my curls out of my face. I let out a deep sigh before standing up and grabbing my robe.

I picked up my phone from my side table, checking for any notifications.

I haven't heard from Huey since he left yesterday, and I'm starting to get worried. He told me he would text when he landed, but he hasn't. I don't even know if he's okay.

I proceeded to call his number again as I did many times yesterday.

No answer.

I sighed, walking out of my room.

I heard commotion coming from downstairs. In confusion, I walked down, seeing Riley and Jacob standing by the front door.

"C'mon nigga, lesgo!" Jacob rushed as Riley sucked his teeth. "Nigga, would you relax! Damn! You gon' wake everybody up."

"Too late." I said as they noticed me standing on the stairs.

"Hey baby." Jacob smiled, walking towards me. He gave me a kiss as I smiled slightly.

"How come you're here so early? On a Sunday?" I asked in slight confusion. "Riley's usually still sleeping."

"Exactly, nigga. Exactly." Riley spat as Jacob rolled his eyes at him before turning back to me.

"We ain't got to practice in forever and we gotta f*ckin' game next week."

"Nigga, I don't need practice. I'm Young Reezy."

"Yeah nigga, you do. Da f*ckin' team is countin' on you and I ain't loosin' just 'cause yo' ass been focused on C-Murph's ass."

Riley smirked. "It's a nice ass, nigga."

"Oh. Well then." I cleared my throat.

"Nigga, just go getcho ball." Jacob said. "Please." I agreed with a slight chuckle.

Riley grumbled before walking past us and up the stairs.

"Man... Riley and Murph. Can you f*ckin' believe it?" Jacob asked me as I smiled slightly. "Yeah. Still getting used to it."

"So what's up wit dis robe?" Jacob asked with a smirk. "I mean, I'm down wit it."
