~ Huey ~

Since the incident yesterday, a lot has changed.

Riley's now good friends with Ebony and there's no more bickering.

I sit in the living room on the couch reading a book with Granddad sitting in his recliner watching BET.

He had a cheeseburger in his hand from some fast food restaurant.

"Ooh, shake it girl! Shake it girl! Shake it girl! Yeah!"

"Don't look Huey! This might to be too explicit fo' you!" He then cackled as I shook my head.

"With all the money you have, you still continue to consume your mind in these destructive channels and eat poisonous food." I told him keeping my eyes on my book.

Granddad then frowned at me. "Lighten up boy! I'm living, damnit! Whatchu got against BET?"

"Only the fact that they're out to destroy black people." I said plainly as he kissed his teeth.

"You jus' betta not go on no hunger strike again! I ain't paying fo' you if you end up in the hospital."

I was instantly reminded of the boycott from 2 years ago against BET.

Looking at the show now, I understand why I even put the hunger strike into action.

I was then approached by Ebony walking into the living room.

"Hey Huey. Hey Mr. Freeman." She smiled.

"Hey." I replied.

"Hey, lil baby. Wanna watch some BET?"

"BET?" Ebony looked at me confused as I looked up from my book.

"Only watch it if you want your mind to be poisonously consumed." I responded. "Boy, hush up!"

Ebony then giggled. "Actually I was wondering if I could borrow a book from Huey."

"A book?" I asked as she nodded. "Yeah. I like to read." Ebony then smiled brightly.

"C'mon Ebbzy!" Riley then said walking into the living room.

He's seemed to develop a new nickname for her.

"Don't be like Huey's gay ass and read. Lets play da Xbox."

She giggled. "I can read and also play Xbox, Riley."

I never knew Ebony liked to read, but at the same time I didn't know she knew how to fight like how she did yesterday.

"Boy, you ain't got no time to play Xbox. Get yo' ass to school, Ruckus is probably waitin' for y'all."

Granddad then turned to Ebony. "Speaking of which, we need to enrol you in school, lil baby."

Ebony nodded as I began to think.

"Granddad, there are certain things Ebony needs in order to go to school." I told him.

"Like what?"

"Birth certificate, health cards, documents explaining-"

"Aye, Ed and Rummy know a guy that make fake ID's and sh*t!" Riley then interrupted me. "Maybe he can make those things fo' Ebbzy."

"Perfect!" Granddad said as he looked back at me with me shaking my head.

Ebony chuckled nervously. "Are you sure that'll work?"

"Yeah yeah!" Riley encouraged as Ebony giggled. "Well, I can't wait to go back to school. It's been so long.."
